Nice adventure!
Not sure how you got lost on the East side approach. I've done it 4 times and....Oh, other than the first time when we bushwhacked for 4 hours up this gully....Oh, yeah it took me a few more times to style it.
Great place to visit and pay homage to the mountain god.

Yup, bushwhacked up the gully and thought we could get to the lion's ledge by heading straight for it... you can't.
