10” crystal near the anatomical middle of the 1st Dark Star Buttress. Great view of Sun Goddess Aręte from here. Near the top of Dark Star is a big red face, blushing?

Dark Star, David Gerwe on the start of pitch 10. The belay he constructed is marked with a circle and the blue line is the roof on the next pitch (11). I thought this was 10b & I almost pitch off this one too! :) |

Dark Star Pitch 10 Begins here. The hand drawn topo showed features that we found here. The beginning is marked by a great belayers seat with backrest. (inside the circle) I thought this pitch was tricky 10a. :) |

Looking back at some towers atop the Middle Buttress of Dark Star. |

We skipped the first set of rappels and just downclimbed the section without any problem. However, we found it better to rappel the second set than downclimb. I tried to sketch out a topo for the rappels b/c it's a bit confusing. |

|
Lots of simul-climbing on the ridge!! |

Snack time for me at the top of the first headwall |
