Kor-Beck, Middle Cathedral 5.9 |
||
Yosemite Valley, California USA | ||
|
Avg time to climb route: 4-5 hours
Approach time: 20 minutes Descent time: 1 hour Number of pitches: 7 Height of route: 600' Overview
This stout 5.9 is slightly awkward and technical in that classic Yosemite way. Most of the moves are in well-protected clean grooves and leaning corners. It’s harder than the East Buttress of Middle Cathedral and Central Pillar of Frenzy and a good alternative if those climbs are too crowded. Most climbers rappel after Pitch 6. The original route continues to the Kat Walk on dirty and wandering terrain. You can pull through most cruxes on gear.
