Overview
Bombs Over Tokyo climbs the spectacular steep arête of Daff Dome. It used to be that the high grade and bad bolts scared most away from all but the first pitch of this route. The 5.11d R second pitch of this climb was one of the most serious of its era. Fortunately, the ASCA replaced all bolts (except the aid variation) in 2002. A new route, Blown Away, meets Bombs Over Tokyo at the 4th pitch belay, so it’s now possible to toprope the amazing 4th pitch 5.10d arête. For those interested in an adventure, it’s also possible to bypass the 5.11d R pitch and aid the original 3rd pitch, then lead the spectacular 4th pitch.
