Classic in every way, the Rainbow Wall (aka the Original Route on the Rainbow Wall) was the first big wall done in Red Rocks, and the first free climbed. Today, it is probably the most accessible and friendly climb of it's difficulty for it's size. A fairly light rack and a single 60m rope, with convenient bolted anchors and bolts protecting all the hard cruxes, allow this huge route to be done in a day by mere mortals. Endless high-quality climbing up the middle of one of the biggest walls in Red Rocks, incredible views, and a proud steep line. While it is still aid climbed by some, 5.11 climbers can French free the cruxes, and even clean aid is causing damage to the sandstone – especially cam hooks.
