Instantly recognizable from magazine photos, Airy Interlude is the classic thin crack traverse that most people associate with the soaring spires of the Needles. Igor Unchained is the route that Airy Interlude traverses to and shares the last pitch with. And since they share a large ledge on top of pitch 2, they are frequently linked back and forth, most commonly the first 2 of Igor to Airy back to Igor. Perfect Needles rock, steep positive climbing, sustained finger and hand cracks, and an amazing setting combine to make these routes (or any combination of the two) totally classic.
