Overview
Scimitar is almost as good as Fantasia but without the consistent runouts. This climb is set apart by its variety as you will encounter lieback cracks, runout face, and steep bulges. The route is sustained at the 5.8 and 5.9 level and unlike most Leap routes there are sections with few dikes where you must jam. All the pitches are classic. While the general route line is obvious, finding the easiest crux sequences can be devious. If you confidently climb Scimitar and don’t flinch on the second pitch runout, then you may be ready for Fantasia.
