The stone at the Devastated Area on the north side of Mt. Lassen is the freshest in the state. Most of it was created in the last volcanic eruption of Mt. Lassen in 1915. Most of the boulders are in forests with generally flat landings and short approaches. Don’t miss the Hot and Cool Rocks as well as the classics on the Mushroom Boulder. Notable Bouldering Problems
