Overview

Most of these rocks are alongside the highway or just a stone’s throw away and offer great swimming holes, sightseeing, and chilling as well as easy access to a fine selection of white granite boulder problems. The bouldering history here is mostly unknown but people were probably doing moderate-level problems on the rocks near the popular swimming holes and on the obvious roadside blocks in the 80s and 90s when Grizzly Dome was developed and climbing was getting popular. My friends and I helped develop some of the problems at the Arch Rock and Public Property Boulders, but the couple other classics like The Fin V0/V3 and the awesome highball V6 at Rockcrest were done by locals.

#1 V2*** roadside classic at Arch Rock and Hot Mama V4***, Feather Light V2***, Tail Feather V6***, The Fin V0*** and the classic #13 V6**** at Rockcrest.
