Castle Lake is the deepest and largest alpine lake in the Shasta area. At over 5,000 feet elevation, the air is crisp and clear and the rock is solid and weathered. Hiking, fishing, picnicking, camping, and even some cragging can be had as well as 20 good boulder problems on the one and only Bathroom Boulder. A local Shastafarian bouldering haunt. Keep an eye out for the magical Lemurians that are said to live in nearby Mt. Shasta. Notable Bouldering Problems
