Avg time to climb route: 2 hours
Approach time: 15 minutes Descent time: 20 minutes Number of pitches: 5 Height of route: 300' Overview
According to Steve Roper's "Climbing Guide to Yosemite Valley": Ascend a set of double cracks in a corner for 50 feet, move right over a large block, then climb back left to a belay ledge at the base of a squeeze chimney. Climb this for 15 feet (5.8) then, somewhat higher, move across a ramp which slopes up and right. Belay on a long, narrow ledge at the base of a shallow chimney. The 3rd lead climbs this chimney and the double cracks above until it is possible to enter a wider chimney on the left. From the sloping ledge atop this chimney, either step left around a corner or continue up a hidden lieback to a large tree. The next pitch follows a class 4 gully to a broad, sandy terrace. The fifth lead is the crux: climb up a steep corner to an overhang 5.9 lieback.
