What a really, really fun route! Nice work guys
Went out on 9/27 with a forecasted high of 101. We were able to climb most of the day in the shade and did not get sun until 430 which caused us to bail at the top of P7.
Few side notes. The ghost is a really cool feature weighing in around 500#, but it is loose and your belayer is directly below, be careful.
At the top of P6 we "accidentally" established a really good single pitch variation. After the steep hand and fist crack we did not traverse far enough to the left, intstead begain climbing the beautiful splitter straight ahead, with enormous face holds. Turns out this wasn’t on route.... Left a nut and slung scrub oak ( it holds enough.) This variation is excellent in its own right but could use a real anchor. 5.10- 75ft
The P7 splitter looks very intimidating, but a surplus of crimps keeps it manageable.
We took double blue tcu- #3camolot, one #4 and one #5. Didn’t need the #5, but could have used two purple TCUs on P7, small well placed nuts worked instead.

*What is "Route Beta"?
It's climber slang for information or tips on a route as in, "what's
the beta on that route?" As a service to fellow climbers we ask SuperTopo
guidebook users to post tips and updates to this website if they have relevant
information to share after a climb.
