I finally made an outing with the family to the American Mountaineering Center. Home of the American Alpine Club, Colorado Mountain Club, Henry S. Hall Jr. American Alpine Club Library, and the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum.
Spent a great afternoon there in the museum and the library. Man you can spend lots of time in the library. I checked out my limit at closing time. Some videos and some good stuff on AZ and AK.
The museum is great for n00bs and experts. Great stuff for all climbers. Big mountains, local stuff, art, USA, foreign, EVEREST, artifacts, little theaters, gear placing in the back and more.
I even did a little research on my membership and some of the red tape on the club. Looking to run for the Board of Directors and needed to be on top of my game.
The AAC is a great resource for all people. I talked with Beth the librarian and there is some much stuff in the archives that is just waiting to get out to the masses.
