zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
you remind me of a little african bird
he flew into the side of the shaman's hut
he fell to the ground and lay there stunned
a little boy saw it and took it to the shaman
he asked could he help the bird regain his senses
the wise man took the little bird and cupped it in his two hands
he opened one small hole and blew softly, softly into them
he repeated the gesture several times and the bird peed in his hand
you are that nasty little ungrateful bird, Fareak.
the shaman clapped his hands and the bird disappeared.
try to uplift you and what happens?
end of story.
you are the boring one, always with the same old tired attitude.
GROW and FLY and FIND PEACE, child.
I sincerely hope you will...
but if not, Vishnu has His Kali; and Jesus, His Satan; and I, a hernia.

I may be wasting my breath on the bastion, Gnome, much like the shaman with the little piss-bird.
Fareak is a piss-ant, however, and an oh so easy target.

So Ruby looks up at me from the grave I just dug her and says to me from her two dyin' (well technically dead) eyes and says
"I wish you guyz could have done a little bit better job of taking care of me".
She requested this be played at the wake.
her mama told her about it
doesn't hound dog's voice sound like Denzel Washington?

Steve Kerr

He absolutely did not.
He was a Wildcat, and a legend.
University of Arizona.
Big difference.
These kind of things demand clarification.
I'll forgive you but don't let it happen again.
The reason he was heckled so rudely was because the Wildcats were on the road at Arizona State.
It is a bitter and timeless rivalry.

ZB,
My condolences to you. Ruby was a total cutie, and I know she is having a great time where she is, no matter what the Priest said about souls and spirits of our fur family.
Thank you for sharing Ruby with us here. She had the cutest face.

Mouse,
Is that a root basket that is being presented to QE?
What a gift!
Thank you for all the great images. The migrant worker photos were stark and stunningly haunting.
There is so much of a story in photos of families, and the one of the four generations of women is a magnificent reminder of our lineage and of changes through time.
I have been lurking, not posting much, but read and enjoy everyone's posts. Summer company has begun, with people arriving to crash or visit, mostly just to be in Montana. Nice to see everyone still here around the flames on the Taco, and also nice to have people wandering in and out here in Montana, and taking some of them sightseeing.
(See feralfae waving, smiling, and tossing lots of * <fairy dust> * to each of you.)
Thank you.

"I brake for rappellers."
donini really gets around, don't he?
[Click to View YouTube Video]And so does Tom Frost.
Annapurna or Annapoorna (Bengali: অন্নপূর্ণা, Devanagari: अन्नपूर्णा from Sanskrit meaning the giver of food and nourishment. Also called অন্নদা (annadaa) in Bengali.) is the Hindu goddess of nourishment. Anna means "food" or "grains". Purna means "full, complete and perfect". She is an avatar (form) of Parvati, the wife of Shiva. Annapurna is eulogized in Annada Mangal, a narrative poem in Bengali by Bharatchandra Ray.
Worship of food and Annadhana, the offering of food, is highly praised in Hinduism and hence Annapurna is regarded as a popular deity. As per legend, Annapurna fed the whole world along with her consort Shiva, who was begging for food on account of a whim created by her. Annapurna is usually depicted as a youthful goddess having red complexion with a face round like full moon, three eyes, high breasts and four hands.
--Wiki
I mentioned this in my post about the Climber's Guide to the H.S. yesterday--that Tom Frost was on the 1958 FA of Mt. Clark's North Face (5.6 then, but 5.7 or even 5.8, in '76), one of his earliest FAs in and about the Valley. Tom must have been about 19 or so then, a Stanford climbing club member.
It's in the '76 editon of the Roper GHS, that I find mention of BooDawg's and Guido's ascent of the SW Face of Clark, 1970.
That must have been a proud route to have achieved. The approach is not all that strenuous, and the rock looks great, but has it been freed yet? I imagine it has been.
Oh, man. Look away, Rubyland, look away.
Platitudes desert me
Empty eulogies echo
Silently I condole
And STFU

You're right jefe. I haven't been my usual careful self lately. I would not however, call what was reported to have happened heckling. Anyway, Wildcats or Sunworshippers, really is probably only a big deal to folks in Arizona. Sorta like if I'd said Mr. Kerr had attended Fairfax, rather than Pali. :)

Lacking platitudes I fall back on banal cliches
on white elephants who've outlived their purpose
my words circle like dogs chasing their tails
and never quite snagging them
it's an endless game, dying and having people feel sorry
or glad to have seen the last of you
if I knew tricks, if I juggled, or if I wore baggy pants/big shoes/clown's make-up I might try to cheer you up about the "pup-dog"
but since none of the above applies, just let me say so sorry for your loss

Thanks Brian.
We always buried our pets, except by mom's dog Trinka (she was a big Samoyed). So Ruby's resting in peace with Abigail (my mom's cat).
Why not? San Diego Balboa Park. As far as I know Steve Kerr did not play here, though me, Bill Walton, Oscar Foster, Hambone Williams (to name a few) did. On second thought, Steve lived in San Diego, so maybe he did. I never guarded him though.
Right next door to the gym is the Starlight Bowl (Theatre) where I saw my first professional concert featuring Peter, Paul and Mary (1963 seems like a long time ago).
Bob Dylan himself played there. It's a pretty small venue (though not as small at the Belly Up).
This is just a reminder to my aging brain, caveat emptor, to perhaps elaborate on later.

Steve Kerr is actually a pretty funny guy. I just read the Sports Illustrated article about him. He could have been a Flame.
He does laugh at his own jokes I've heard.
So does Bill.
I like more ball rather than less, so if the Cavs (is that short for Cadavers?) win tonight, it's OK if GS waits to finish 'em off in game 7.
If it goes 7, I want Walton in the announcing spot. His commentay is much more interesting.
