"Oh YES, General TURGIDson is here, but I'm afraid he can't come to the phone at the moment."

General "Buck" Turgidson: Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?

Dr. Strangelove: Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

Ambassador de Sadesky: I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.

A week from now we will find out that this was all a very elaborate practical joke by Philo, I hope?

General Jack D. Ripper: Mandrake, do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk... ice cream. Ice cream, Mandrake, children's ice cream.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Lord, Jack.
General Jack D. Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began?
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I... no, no. I don't, Jack.
General Jack D. Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.

Philo is an old friend of mine from Gunnison in the 70's. I climbed my first 5.10 OW with him in 1978. His FA's in the Gunnison area and Red Rocks NV are legendary works of art (just like his prose and cartoons). Anyone who has ever shared a rope with him is a friend for life.

Hank, thanks for your post.

Phil is a caring and intensely passionate (to a fault)individual about every endeavour he takes up. He sent me an email about this, and I admit that the discussion of the subltleties of the computer problems he claims are over my head. Phil will take a stand and not back down, but he is a thoughtful reasonable person that is unfortunately going through a big stack of problems at the moment.

As I have moved to California from Colorado this year, I have used ST as one of the ways that I kept up with Phil and enjoyed encouraging him to share his past and passion for the climbing community. I for one think that ST will be a duller place with his leave.

Whatever. No one here was bullied by me, period. When you come on here and flat out lie, then call me a liar, you are simply either clueless, weren't there as it went down, or are being a dick to back up your bro. You take your pick, cause, personally, I really don't care which it is.

All this pouring out of emotion for Phil is great and all. However, just because someone is going through a tough time, doesn't give them the right to throw a full-on tantrum, threaten people, etc. over and over, and not expect people to respond.

I honestly don't give a f*#k what you wankers think, nor about your claims that Philo never said, nor implied, that Russ damaged his computer and that he was calling the Feds on Russ for doing so. I tried to talk sense to him for a number of posts, over an hour or two, as he did so. I'm SURE it doesn't matter that someone re-posted just a few of his posts that did so, right?

So, on the contrary, I'd say it's more about a few of you, coming out here and perpetuating a lie, and calling me a liar, that are actually not only attempting to bully *me*, but also gang up on me in an attempt to do so. Whatever. To that, I simply have to say, "f*#k you, asshats". I'm sorry if you want to believe your incredibly unstable friend who went back and edited a number of his posts before deleting them all, but he did, in fact, make those accusations and threaten actions against someone for posting a picture on an Internet forum. Lame as that is, it happened. Sorry if that hurts...

The group of you are so f*#king illogical that, simply out of frustration, I'm about to post that f*#king picture multiple times, in each of these threads talking about it. If it causes any number of lying, illogical whining wankers to bail, then so be it. Seriously.

edit: which means, it's time to step away from this. I have other things do anyway. You guys have fun. "

Oh tantrums?

Same old sh'it we've all seen thousands of times back in Camp 4 if you've lived there long enough. Pretty hilarious at times.

One of the classics was Dimitry flipping out as we're off to the base of some climb ranting and flipping out about how Scott Burk stole his camera.

The other person in our party calmly tells Dimitry: "You just lent him the camera this morning".

hahahaha .....

Survival - thanks for quoting that post so we could see it again. I especially agree with this part:

full-on tantrum, threaten people, etc. over and over, and not expect people to respond.

LOL, now that is a classic story Werner.

Dingus, I may still have one of my nephews sippy cup from with they were toddlers and learning to drink from a cup. It would keep these kinds of accidents from happening. I could look and send it to you. haha.. I think it has dinosaurs on the side if that will help you feel manly while using it.

Definitely always the first and sometimes the second, in addition to. Depends on the situation. And always man enough to stand by what I say, instead of going back and editing my posts to tone them down, as so many of you do... :)

In this case, however, it was more "one of the few who actually knew what they were talking about". And no, not bailing, that was more "should be getting back to finishing a web site so I get the backend 50% ($6k) that's coming to me."

So, all of you "I actually believe that a picture could cause hardware issues on a computer" kids have fun. (Still not quite finished with the site)

Oh. And hey! Where the f*#k's my camera?!?!?!

Nefarius,

Looks like you got some sleep last night and woke up a little more level, that's good.

Now, about that solo grip you've got on truth and light......

Just kidding. Speaking of getting off to chores, I'm out of here.

We've seen a few rather dramatic and memorable exits from The Taco over the years,
and I gotta say, this one ranks as FAR AND AWAY the most noise over nothing.

As I mentioned before, photo-bombs are nothing new around here, and where was
the widespread panic and anarchy when people clicked on Crimpergirl's old school
thread, which amounted to 37 MB on the first page alone??????????1111

Definitely! Was still recovering from Saturday until 6AM, on that silly site.

"Karl - how long did you wait before you came to the determination that the computer "crashed"?
(be honest)"

It was a trip cause I waited a long time (cause I had a number of applications up on my new MacBookPro. I thought I'd just have to force quit Safari but I had to force the whole machine down with the power button. My cursor wouldn't move anywhere.

Years ago I had corrupt jpegs bring down a different machine regularly.

Why the extreme reaction? I dunno. I'm quit certain the Russ had no intention of causing that level of mayhem (much mayhem may be caused that way)

Whatever. For the record I like Russ and Philo and hope whatever feather and scales are ruffled come back into form as soon as possible. There are far, far worse asshats in the world than Us, so we should come back around and call it good when we can
