I haven't read the Mechanics Book. The article from 2005 was poor because it attacked silly straw man arguments which were the weakest of fringe arguments.

"I found the popular mechanics book credible and assertions logical, it's especially hard for me to begin giving credence to a site which contains this data "6) Did cell phones work at 30,000 feet in 2001? ".
So now I'm to believe the fed's faked the cell phone calls and somehow mimiked the voices of peoples loved ones? Or am I supposed to derive that the feds captured the crew and passengers and made them make the calls? "

No, you are supposed to question were those cell calls really possible back then and if not, what are the possibilties? Were the planes flying lower that we knew about? Did the passengers use those built in onboard phones? What's going on?

Read this piece about the cell calls and honestly tell me if they are valid questions or tin foil hat nuttery. Cite your reasons

Guess what, 9-11 conspiracy is practically irrelevant in view of a deadlier conspiracy. The conspiracy, which is practically proved at this point, to invade Iraq even though they knew there were no WMDs or links to 9-11. Why do we just let that slide. It's war crimes and high treason. Nothing less.

The number of dead troops is approaching that of 911 body count.

Read the damn book. If you have doubts after that concerning any items vis a vis the explanations, then bring them forward, and they can be discussed; otherwise, all this blather is pointless.

I haven't seen the actual cell tower logs (i'm looking but sure they are not available yet) however one explanation is that cell calls were placed/received for short periods of time while planes were much lower, mostly likely under 1500 feet which wouldn't be impossible for a 4watt 1900mhz digital phone.
Most calls were likely placed using airphones and that would be a totally different situation, much longer, clearer.

What evidence is there that it was "known" that iraq had no wmd. Many not so friendly countries intelligence services believed the same thing.
I believe invading and occupying iraq is a mistake in the sense that it's taking away from our ability to track enemies likely to hit us again.
I haven't seen any believable evidence that our leaders are traitors and in on the attack.
I'd agree they are selfish and self serving however corporate life is just chock full of those folks so it doesn't seem strange or unusual to me and I don't see any majority political party being a bit different, regardless of stated ideology.

Hmm' You mean those phones in the back of the seat don't work?

I never used one because they wanted darn near 10 bucks to make a call.

I'm glad you've now all informed me that I would have been waisting my money because it wouldn't have worked anyway.

Cell phones work just fine in a light pressurized twin at 16k ft. even over the Ca desert. They work just fine from every 14teener in CA also including Shasta also. (Nextel, Vorizon didn't work from Middle Pal but worked from some of the others)

Experimental fact trumps theoretical speculation.

actually I don't mind discussing the details one bit. Please refer to the chart I've pasted below.

Phone Technologies

Phone Standard Frequency
Analog (AMPS) EIA/TIA-553 800 MHz
CDMA (Cellular) IS-95 800 MHz
CDMA (PCS) J-STD-008 1900 MHz

but yea you'd have to use a killer old style briefcase phone to kick up to 4 watts, lots of companies have cell solutions to boost up to 3 watts and .6 is typical and what we're probably discussing.

Frequency band range is commonly known though.

It sure seems possible for short calls to make it through and we both agree that air phones are using much more power and can clearly make necessary connections.

Seems like the whole arguement would revolve around the details behind which call was shown to come from where, using what technology; I'm sure none of us have those details or logs.

mr. woody said "So far we must have around fifty thousand conspirators that pulled this off. I'm more impressed all the time."

one does not have to be"in on it" to be complicit. one only needs to go along with the bush regimes official story, and when that one happens to be a mega-media corporate entity and others of the same caliber follow suit, well then what?

guess how much georgie spent on his innaguration the last go around and guess how much he spent on the official 911 investigation.

i was disgusted but not surprised.

Again and again and again I say read the book. The cellphone issue is covered nicely. After having read that section in the bookstore because you're too cheap to buy it, bring forth an opinion.

Bush hating blinds a lot of people, and they get so testy when you point out how foolish and/or treasonous they sound.

Could it be that they don't realize what they're saying? I'm trying to be charitable.

Here is the 1 hour TV special presentation of 911 Eyewitness "Hoboken" that was shown in LA last June. A staggering documentary whose ... all » evidence is avoided by every debunking entity.
