As someone not living in the USA, why is education included in taxes but medical not? I could understand if either both were, or neither, but why only one? Seems a strange call.
Thanks.

Last April, I had a month long hospitalization. I was pretty sick, but only 1 day in the ICU.
Bill was $650,000 (hospital only)

A friend of mine had cancer back for the third time, and it was multiplying throughout his body. He spent about a week in the oncology ward at Huntington Memorial in Pasadena. His wife was desperate to try anything, and so he had a 24 hour chemo drip.
After a week, they discharged him and he passed on a few days later. They charged him about $15,000. They could have just declined to take him, knowing that the treatments would make little difference, but they are in business to make money, just like any other business. A restaurant will sell you a meal even if you are not hungry, and are better off not eating, so with a hospital.

One of my twin sons, Von, was in the NIC unit for 33 days when he was born;...$950,000......almost a million dollar baby.......
Crazy expensive. Here he is more or less "grown up" at 10 years old. Good thing we have Trump in there now to help us all with our medical expenses...(what?.....)......someone is making some $ when it's $35,000 a day in intensive care.....(I am just guessing at this one..)..
