I ferget would be the true answer,
Certainly not as diff as the Living Conjunction!
But It's in some kind of 5.11 range.

It's fingers for a move or two with your feet in it, then a long reach up into some hands and thrutch through a wider portion, then a bit of a humpin' high step over the lip.

Hawkins got another shot which shows the everpresent cavalier Stetson, but its jiggled a bit, understandably.

There's a 10d alternate to the left, which Bengston said he took.
I have a wider view I'll post up when I move the thread tonight.

And if you look in the seminal Kor Book Picture Book,(Beyond the Vertical?)- I recall there is a better picture of Layton in the same spot.

umm, the east side? hyuck

I climbed it from Camp muir (tourist rte)back in '74. Most details are sketchy but it looked kinda like that.

For all I know, that could be anything.

Yeah, the east side....Emmons Glacier. I gots to scan more pics and or get them on the internet to keep playin this game...

As a rock climber (mostly) I didnt have much respect for Rainier until I climbed it. It was mid august and so freakin cold my water bottle froze (in my pack) on the summit day...A big ole pile of snow and ice...

We climbed the Edmonds Glacier Headwall, over by the Mowich Face, Paradise Approach, came down the Tahoma Glacier.

No pics, but I recall great beauty and a wonderfull local Berry Pie and good Beer served up not far from the trail head on our way out!

ok, clever people will find out the general location and date, but, where is the route (range and area), extra points if you can actually name it, but that ain't going to happen...
