Wave your falsified data Wescrist and we will just taunt you some more.
Your starting premise is wrong so everything that follows is garbage.
A green and brown checkerboard of agricultural fields rings the southern shores of Lake Okeechobee in southeastern Florida. Located immediately north of the Florida Everglades, the farmland represents a long-developing trend—farmers are moving south to escape the crop-killing freezes of the north.

Wes, as we are finding out more and more, just because you're a "scientist", doesn't mean you're incapable of being full of crap.

Wes, what about the scientists who refute or question AGW?
Let me guess, they are biased?
And wasn't Mann using 'rigged' models for his conclusions?

What you gonna believe' Wes's pile of papers or frozen crops and a migration
of farmers south to escape frost damage?
Suggest he look in the mirror when he utters the infamous 'R' word to see one.

Didn't change the outcome of his work? What that things get warmer and cooler?
Mann intentionally coded his model to give a hockey-stick outcome. Doesn't that seem disengenuous? That throws out ALL credibility in my book. Especially when everyone is running around saying, "See, look at the increase".
And when the medieval period is added (which Mann left out), you see that it was just as warm BITD, before cars and coal-plants.

Since I haven't read the science you all are arguing about, I won't comment on it one way or the other. There is one point that does need to be made, though.
Someone, a page or so up, said that some part of Florida was getting colder, rather than warmer, and that therefore global warming was obviously not happening. Assuming that this logic (that local condition are the same as global conditions) is correct, then I could say: The northwest corner of the US, where I live, has been getting warmer recently. In fact we have just had the warmest January on record. So, therefore, since this area is getting warmer, then the whole world is getting warmer.
Identical logic, two diametrically opposite conclusions.
Reductio ad absurdum. The logic is flawed.
I'm used to dealing with adults, so I probably won't get through to whomever posted the nonsense about freezes in Florida. Do we have a kindergarten teacher on board who can explain to him/her that the increase or decrease in local temperature or climate can't be extrapolated to prove anything about global temperature or climate.

Blue, that petition has been circulated by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, which is hardly a respected academic institution. In fact it's not an academic institution at all.
The Home Page's current navigation bar lists 8 individuals under the "Faculty" heading. Two of those listed are deceased, and two are sons of OISM's head, Arthur B. Robinson. Yet even though the OISM credentials 8 persons as "Faculty", it has no classrooms, or student body.

Yet he's absolutely certain that he does. That's a fascinating but disheartening theme of this thread.

I don't know who is more stupid the right wingers who say there is no problem. Or the left wingers who say it is about saving nature.
It is primarily an econcomic issue. It would be much cheaper to reduce our impacts now than deal with the consquences later. GLOBAL warming means more extreme weather which causes economic and other impacts. It's not about saving the world, it's about keeping the Earth in good shape for humans.
But the polluters who make a lot of money off of polluting do a good job convincing the right wing sheeple it's some tree hugging nonsense. Selfish Asswipes.

jingy - That youtube is horsedung.
You can't assume GCC would be bad.
It could as easily be good, leading to all sorts of benefits.
Or it could be neutral with little shifting of wet/dry hot/cold needed for
life to go on as usual. The doom n gloomer's claim that any change
must be bad is hilarious. Only a little less funny than thinking
humans can stop pumping trillions of tons of carbon into the air.

Jingy, good chat there. A lot of scientists have thought along those lines, but he puts it in nice folksy terms.
