Henny, we couldn't help it if you didn't know your left from your right.LOL
After buying a new harness and grigri last week, I found the harness I bought in 2000 and my old grigri hooked to it. There's a hundred and something bucks I'll not see again. haha

I took a visiting climber out to Woodson. He was from Ohio and had heard about it. We hit Aids Victim, Hear my Train a Comin, Driving South, Robbin's Crack, Eric's Face, Baby Robbin's, Uncertainty Principle, Jaws, Big Grunt, Mother Superior, and a bunch of other easier routes that we soloed in a day. Woodson is just plain amazing once you know your way around! Thanks to all those who explored it back in the day and found all those amazing routes.

Well ya'll I just received confirmation that the wonder-kid himself, Chris Lindner is going to join us in March. Chris is as excited as I am and wants to help out. He's agreed to give a presentation Friday night after the day of climbing. I'm still working on securing Vertical Hold as the venue for this.

The Dragon Arete is over the top, on the left side of the trail between the Crucible and the Ogre. It's easier to see once you've passed it. If you climb the arete on the right side, it's about .11a/b-ish. There are also two face climbs to the right, each with a single bolt for TRing. One of 'em is quite hard...

It was posted a couple times. From what i've heard they said foul play was not ruled out. Possible mountain lion kill? maybe. There are a few of them running in the hills around those parts. We've seen tracks on the north side trails before. I drove by there monday at 9pm and it was raining and windy. There was one car parked by the trail head. Details are scarce.

"A man whose body was found on Mount Woodson was identified as 60-year-old Donald Allen Fobes of Oceanside, officials with the Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.
Fobes was discovered Tuesday about 10:45 a.m. on a trail by a hiker who called authorities. A Sheriff’s Department helicopter lifted his body from the mountain.
The Medical Examiner’s office has not determined how Fobes died. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Wednesday"
Based on what I've seen so far and making an educated guess, I'm, first, going to rule out a cougar for if there was visible evidence from this type of trauma, which I think there would be, someone would have reported it. Second, based on the mans age, the physical exertion involved and statistics, I'm going to say he had a cardiac event which ultimately killed him. I'm just going off little evidence, and Paramedic discretion, then again who am I?
