Thanks Mike.. I am here posting cus the smoke in the area here in the Owens Valley and up high on the Eastside from both the Hume and Rough fires is killing us. Got brutalized the day before yesterday at 12k by it. Woke up this morning wanting to head up and throw some flies at one of my Spots but just couldn't see myself getting sick like I did two days ago.

That sucks Rick. We had it pretty bad up here from the fire out in Pemberton. Had to buy the boys and I ventilators just so we could continue to work!

I caught a tiny baby Golden once in some stream around a campground that was only about 6 inches deep. The little tyke wasn't a whole lot longer than the Mepps spinner I was playing around with. It was quickly released to grow up a larger and wiser trout. Sure was beautiful.

Reilly...
Brookie using Bait? Hmmm. They hunt with speed from the depths and shoot back down into their holes.
Either one of these two "Chromi" Patterns of mine work really nice to entice them Monster Brookies up high to do so.

Holy moly! those fish can sure eat!
Those flies are epoxy yes? Thanks for sharing them so generously. I'm going to tie a few up and try them up in Kashmir next time I head that way. Might be fun to see what they think of 'em.
Of course a few might find themselves in my box next time I'm on the eastside as well:-)
Chief, I do like those reels and I have several but my favorite is still my Grandfather's 1917 Hardy. I don't use it very often but when I do it just sings away as line comes off it. When I have it attached to his old bamboo rod I'm instantly transported back in time.
That photo is almost spot on:-)
One of the good things for me that has come out of the drought is that it forced me to explore more than I have done in the past. I never would have found some of the biggest browns of the summer only 45 mins. from my house otherwise for example!
And, I found another 11,000ft + ft lake right under the masses noses too which I doubt gets fished more than a couple times a year. I saw no evidence in JuIy when I was there that anyone had been there at all. I suspect (and reading what you write) there are hundreds like that up there...

Knotsense Dehli... works great on flies. And cures with a UV light in less than five seconds. Helps make them last for at least a half dozen hits. Them Brookies got some sharpass shark teeth and rip them flies apart big time.

It's just too special to not do, and you're just too close to not do it. ..

Chief, what weight are you using to huck your bigger beadheads?
Thanks.
Dale
edit: roger, Chief, thanks. Rio lines seem just a bit stiffer and chucker makes sense, esp with spey or the kinda short-rolling we get to do around here. I have to work to get a good roll with a bead or fuzzed-out streamer, like Timid using a 4-piece, 5wt and way-noodly. For the record, totally skeeved by the belly-fulla-mouse pics...

Or what?
Jane Wyman (1917-2007) was an acclaimed actress who is also the only person in history to be the ex-wife of an American president,
having been married for eight years to Ronald Reagan, with whom she had three children
(they divorced in 1948 before she started her acting career).
She was one of the finest actresses of her generation, receiving four Academy Award nominations
and winning one for Johnny Belinda in 1948.
She was re-introduced to a new generation of fans through her 1981-1990 evening soap opera Falcon Crest,
in which she played the lead.
Here she is seen at the 1950 Los Angeles Sportsmen's Show getting a casting tip
from Stanley Wright of Denver's Wright & McGill.
She was testing out the company's new Fre-Line reel.

Hooked up on a Brookie the other that reminded me of you Locker... he just wouldn't let go of the damn fly. The strangest deal I have ever seen in over 25 years of Fly Fishing.
Hey Mouse, please explain how this has anything that relates to politics...
