best city for climbing/back country boarding

Butte and Bozeman will work fabulously for you--IF you don't like population centers or "city" culture.

By and large they are university towns (Missoula, too) with abundant outdoor recreation opportunities; just don't expect crowds and scenes...

Quite a lot of b/c action west of Boulder, and w/out driving I-70 Indian Peaks, RMNP etc.

Under threat of great bodily harm that's about as much info as I can give.
