Hey Tom - your report will be sorely missed. If you could surmount the technical/upload issues might you consider bringing it back? Best, David

Thanks for all your work on these reports over the years. It is very much appreciated. It has been interesting to see how the clarity of the photos has developed and how you have influenced climber's attire with regard to visibility on the big stone.

Going to miss your reports. Again, thanks!

Tom,

I've been reading your reports frequently ever since I discovered them; they've given me climbs to aspire to. (I just led my first two aid pitches on the weekend!)

Thanks for all the work you've put in --- it's been greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tom! Always a treat to read the report and see the photos, and to talk to you at the bridge and the cafeteria. You're a great credit to our community.

Plus climbers on the big stone are dressing way better than they used to, because of you.

Tom, thank you so much for peeping and reporting! Chris Mac, Sorry to say I will be logging onto Supertaco a lot less, as the main reason I check is for Tom's report...

wow, bummer. though change is an immutable law of nature, it always seems like some things are destined to go on forever. but alas, that is never the case. vaya con Dios, amigo.

We should have hired Tom a secretary to do all the grunt work. Charge for access to his site to pay for it.

Come on Tom.. Just think of the possibilities. Hire hot secretary.

I keep hitting "refresh" when on your site, Tom, but it appears my sad sense of denial isn't doing much in terms of making new el cap reports appear.

OOOF, OOUCH.... here it comes..... no, stay back...... ANGER!!! "Who took Hulk's el cap porn away? Hulk SMASH!!!"

Um, what about this, Tom, can't we bargain a way to keep the reports coming?

Uggg, what's the point of even using the internet now if Tom's reports aren't up to oogle over? So depressing.

Anddddd..... finally, acceptance.

Sincere thanks for all the photographic treats and captivating prose, Tom.

Now that Tom isn't posting his report to the blogosphere, does that mean that El Cap no longer exists? I mean, if it didn't happen on the intardweb, it didn't happen, did it?

Which is kind of rough on Mark, half way up his solo climb of El Cap, which now he can never finish.

Hey Tom,

Just wanted to thank you a ton for the all the reports that managed to keep life interesting while stuck in cubicle puke land. I, along with about 10-15 of my co-workers are going to miss the daily dose of Yosemite reporting each spring and fall. I am happy that you will be able to start enjoying the valley for yourself and not have to work late into the night at the mountain room bar to get the report out. You had a huge positive effect on countless climbers (especially the unknowns like me) and I gotta say that meeting you at the bridge in 2005 was huge in terms of getting back on the stone and getting up the odd route. Thanks once again for watching out for people on the captain, giving advice/cajoling when needed, reminding people not to take themselves too seriously and the humorous reports that kept life interesting for the rest of us. I count on sharing a few cobras & cigars with you this fall. I'm going to really miss the "blast from the past" pics and the "sage advice of the day."

Cheers,

Doug

Thanks for all of the memories you have provided me. I lived in the Valley on and off back in the days, 1978- 1985ish and loved every minute. haveing hung up my shoes in part due to a big time auto wreck and in truth to older gae I really enjoyed reading your reports and seeing the pics.
Best of luck in your future adventures.

Many thanks Tom for all the wonderful updates and stories and the stunning photos! You sure know how to frame a shot! I wasn't one of the many that went to your site every day, but each time I did I was blown away by the quality of the photography! Thanks!
