Werner has little or nothing to prove to Pate or anyone else.

His contributions to climbing speak volumes.

I think we should ban Nature, or at least commit him to a facility where he can receive treatment for whatever has caused him to lose his ability to write. Or maybe what he wrote is code for some really horrible nasty stuff about Werner? I think he and Pate might be witches.

And what do we do with witches?

You all do not have to come to Werner's rescue . . . he can take care of himself. He is in a completely different mind space than the average ST denizen. Werner does not let idle chatter rock his psyche.

In regard to Pate . . . I think he is playing his detractors in classic troll fashion. I was oblivious to the troll element in a forum environment such as this but now I am starting to understand the phenomenon. Pate has made some very interesting, thoughtful and worthwhile contributions to this cyber conversation and to suddenly decide that he is to be somehow banned from an open dialog? Wow, talk about censorship meets freedom of speech! Everyone disses on someone in one way or another on a daily basis . . . I don't care how righteous they think they are.

Self righteousness is a common thread in the climbing world . . . we are all somewhat guilty of a "climber" superiority complex inherent to the pursuit. This is where the Werner "protective" clan is all wrong . . . they wish they had a small percentage of Werner's climbing ability and experience and when some lesser mortal steps out of line and insults their deity, they are personally offended.

Let's get over the petty human emotions, get off of our superiority pedestals and accept what is and what will never be.

Oh that's good. Let's excuse unacceptable behavior just because it's online. Trolling at this level falls into that category.

And people wonder why the world has become the social sh#t hole it is...

Nature's verse is the first one in the Bhagavad-Gita (indian Scripture) about two opposing but related peoples gathering on the battlefield to fight

They made me memorize it in Sanskrit class!

I had two years of University Sanskrit. Pure Torture...I mean intellectual discipline....

It was pretty darn hard but trained my mind. I don't think it helped me unlock any secrets that a translation wouldn't have served well for.

It zeems fair to say that Pate has not chosen to contribute much of positive value to this forum. Kick him and he will not be missed by many (based on the pretty overwhelming indication

Locker on the other hand is a pretty entertaining guy and doesnt seem to take himself too seriously (perhaps we could all take a page out of that book) and about 60% of his graphics make me LOL.

As a young child I was shunned; from the time I was 4 till I turned 6, for not saving the excess oil from a can of tuna.

His behavior seems odd, but I've never been the target. From my experience though, there are always reasons why people behave this way. Everyone is struggling with something.
