I had a flying dog - raging bitch, from maryland.
It's billed as a belgian style india pale ale.
It tastes like a hoppy german wiess bier, or a mellow belgian with lot o' hops.
It's also fantastic. I can't wait until friday so I can have another.

finally found the missing link, Bud Malt, a 40 year old can down in devils canyon, probably left by rock climbers in 1970, which is i believe, the only year of manufacture for bud malt, which is about as common as hen's teeth.

Do Hen's have teeth?....I spent about 3 hours last Thursday at the local Brew Store sampling some excellent Beers ( home brewed and homemade Vodka). I've made about 60 batches of brew but man I can still learn alot.

The best brew I ever had was from the now defunct (1997) Silverplume Brewery, just up the hill from Georgetown Colorado. At Christmas time they used to brew a black raspberry porter that was the most tasty dark malt I've ever put to my lips.
Does anyone know if there are any other brewers that produce a raspberry porter? I'd love to get ahold of some if it exists.

What do you guys think of some of the microbrews they are putting in cans. Like Dales and Fat tire. Good for backpacking and rafting. The local brewery Crow Peak is set to start canning soon.

StahlBro,
You got to try Pliny the Younger? Outstanding. Barrels drained in 7hrs I heard. I'm hoping that someday I'll get a chance to give it a try.
The elder is fantastic, and a growler somehow made it's way into the back of my car last weekend when I was up there.
I'm a hops nut. The hoppier the better.

Men discussing stuff over beers...a lot gets done! (No offense to women, just that men united around beer-meetings is f*#king awesome and our politicians should learn from this).

Snaps, I have tried the Pliny the Younger, it is great too! Stone Brewing is a couple of miles from my house, and they have have relationship with Russian River and get a lot of their beers. Pliny the younger comes and goes the same day, so you have be all over it.

That's what I heard. I've got a friend in Mt. View and told him if he ever sees it available to buy me a growler and I'll drive up that night. Been trying to get lucky since I heard of it.
Regarding the photo above ^^^ I really, really enjoyed New Belgium's Ranger the other day. Had some at a friends and it surprised me.

If it's been in reasonable conditions, that Bigfoot could still be pretty good. It will probably have lost some of it's hoppiness, but barleywines can keep for decades.
