Some really nice shots in this thread. Dimes shots (wolf, elephant), Shrugs grasshopper and hornets (I like the one at the top left looking at him as he shoots), Dipper, the javelina playing golf, foxes, the pheasant, green turtle laying eggs, the feather salmon and more.

Maybe we should start adding in camera/lens to the captions.

This is a cool set of photos(actually, a combination of modeling, photography, and computer-generated imagery) of animals in the womb. Someone just posted it on Twitter and I thought it so cool.... this is the best place I can fit it without making a separate, non-climbing, thread.

Here's a good selection from AK:

Ever get the feeling there's dozens of tiny eyes staring at you?

Or maybe exactly a dozen?

Alaska's state bird, the Ptarmigan.

A tiny critter blessed with big weapons.

The elusive Pika. It's hard to get a decent one of these guys, at least with my lens selection.

A dangerous hoary marmot, poised for pouncing!

A tiny wet bird peeps its significance to the world.

Oh hello!

And I'll wrap it up with a dash of color from the Oregon coast.

Last weekend in Ninilchik I was photographing an eagle when another bird came to bother him. I took photos of the other bird, I think it is a magpie. When I got home to work on the photos I was surprised to see the two snowshoe hares at the base of the tree where the eagle was perched.

Commuting from the subburbs, you never know what you'll see crossing or on the side of the road. I've seen plenty of moose, black bear, a linx, and in this case, Wile E

I couldn't take a picture of the baby licking my daughters hand, as the camera was dangling from her wrist, and she was needless to say a bit suprised by the experience and didn't think to snap a pic. But we did snap a pic of the babies head.

Mental, Nice shots! New Mexico is gawd's country
for the fuzzy arachnids although the most I ever saw
were down by Cave Creek, AZ one night. There was easily
one every 25'; the missus refused to get out of the car.
"C'mon hon, this is great!"

Some denizens of Sequoia.

"Whose trail is this, anyway?"

"Think I'm comin' outta this crack?"
