Dude, I haven't seen anything like that since I was in Borneo. Reaction to a mosquito or some such bug. Needless to say it's hot and itchy and swollen. In the bad sense.
Could be completely wrong, your foot could be protesting the neglect of its apendages. Clip you toe nails bro!
I see on your right ankle, a bite that is slightly absessed. No?

James that is an older mosquito bite pictured...I think.
I got a few. F*#king mosquitos. Yeah, maybe a spider or wicked ant bite or something.
It is draining nicely though, so I got that going for me.
The itching is centered around the right side and back of my ankle. No visible puncture marks there.

I'm leaning to bug bit of some kind. I was wearing sandals most of the trip. I kinda had a feeling PO wasn't up that high.
There are two possible bite marks. One is obvious above my heal a couple of inches, that is where the itching as worst and leakage occurs. The other is the red spot down by my ankle that itches too.

Spider bite for sure. Here's a theory. Sleeping bag lurking spider. Something with venom.
Serious reaction man! Bummer.
I once did a moto trip down to Cabo, then after being home for a few days. I went to yosemite and rolled out my tent. Sure as sh#t a scorpion came strollin out. Freaked the crap out of me.

Damn, wicked kankle my friend! Looks like a spidey bite.
Put sum Tussin on it, drink 6 beers and get it checked out. At the worst you will get some good salve for the future.
Peace

Alright maybe a doc tomorrow, we'll see how it does overnight. It is leaking pretty good, ain't that a good thing? To relieve swelling. There are no obvious venom lines of a highly venomous spider.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's past the worst stage.
Already did the beer treatment, Mucci, thanks for admiring my kankles....it's weird, I feel fat!
I'll go to a doc tomorrow if it ain't better.
James I hear ya about the bag-lurkers. My wife got a bite a few years ago, prolly recluse or more likely a wolf-spider (according to CDF medics). Prolly a bag-lurker from my old house on the Cupertino hills, tons of spiders all over my house!!!!
Anyway she had the distinctive bullseye pattern of a venemous bite. The medics marked it's radius with a pen and said if it goes outside the marks (spreads), come back...it didn't. She was kinda weak and dizzy for a day or two though.
On a side note, I did notice today a baby black widow in the back of our bear box when I was cleaning up. I shoulda killed it in retrospect. Save somebody the pain. I guess you could argue though that widow keeps the box clean of other spiders...and she does just hang in the back, out of the way. Mostly.
