Strange you should say.
I'm an old guy who's finally getting laid again.
But I better loan NO-0NE the two and a half hour original since his mormon sensitivities only permit violence and not sex, and he would have a hard time with the Playboy bunny scenes (literally).
Still, for some strange reason he can handle ten straight minutes of uncut puppet porn,..

Great movie, but has anyone seen the satirical version
called "Pork Lips Now!" (totally serious)
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0081354/
Now that was a classic!

If somebody else pumps up the tires why should she complain if she's the one who gets to ride the bike?

Sounds like you're running with some bald tires there Steve. Time for retreads perhaps?
Anyway, back to Apocalypse Now;
"I'm not going!
I'm not going!
I'm not going!"
Coporal turns around, grabs PFC's lapel, yanks him off chopper.

Prematurely is bad enough, but apart also?
Kilgore
"What do you think?"
Johnson
"Wow, this is really exciting man."
Kilgore
"No. No. The waves. The waves."
Johnson
"Oh right."
Kilgore
"look at that. Breaks both ways. Watch. Watch.
Look, good six foot swells."

CHEF:
"I'm a saucier..."
And he said it with pride, with conviction, and just knew he was in the wrong place altogether. As I recall, he became pretty unglued at one point.

I've got the Redux version. It's not a huge improvement on the original, but it's worth it. A great movie in many ways.
If you haven't seen it, Hearts of Darkness, about the making of Apocalypse Now, is very interesting.
And if you're looking to add a rare, but very good movie to your Vietnam war movie collection, try 84 Charlie Mopic.

FINALLY someone else whose mind was also blown by the theatrical ending....I was starting to wonder if I hallucinated the whole thing....
AN was the first rated-R movie I ever saw....snuck in with a buddy....told the parents I was going to Kramer vs. Kramer.
Sure can't figure out why it's not included on video versions...awesome & surreal....

Took 12 minutes to load but worth it.
What whores! The horror! LOL
I don't suppose that it would bring a whole new demographic to the audience would it?
Its all in the packaging I guess, but then again with a drastic re-edit,.....???

Opening shot throttled me but good sitting up close to the big screen: The jungle and then the napalm "apocalypse." A masterpiece film of a tragic era and disgrace of American history, which remains a part of us all.

Hey, man, you don't talk to the Colonel. You listen to him. The man's enlarged my mind. He's a poet-warrior in the classic sense. I mean sometimes he'll... uh... well, you'll say "hello" to him, right? And he'll just walk right by you. He won't even notice you. And suddenly he'll grab you, and he'll throw you in a corner, and he'll say, "do you know that 'if' is the middle word in life? If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you"... I mean I'm no, I can't... I'm a little man, I'm a little man, he's... he's a great man. I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of silent seas...
