Dean, Any way of ordering this other than through Amazon? I really don't like supporting that company if I can help it.
Signed copies?

I just received my wonderful copy tonight. I have only taken a cursory run thru the pages but first thoughts are I love the fact of BW as well as color photos. I also really love the inside front photos of gear on the crisp white background. Wow!
The back cover page is my favorite.....395 and 6. Sweet dreams, or nightmares.
Thanks for your encouragement Dean.
Cheers, lynnie
Edit: Sketchy, you can purchase thru Patagonia website.

One more time to celebrate climbing. It's crazy challenging to put a book of climbs and people and craziness into a hard core front to back edition of what has been done in this wonderful world of rock.
I strongly suggest the climbing community get the book for their own libraries and to give credence to who this climbing community is and what they have accomplished. Just my opinion. Cheers, lynnie

Excellent book. What a great X-mas present!
But I kept looking for the chapter on sport climbing. A big miss, IMO.

Lynne, I couldn't agree more. An excellent addition to any library for one who is interested in the history of rock climbing.
John and Dean and Tom did a superb job of capturing the era: one can feel the snugness of the Swami belt as it cinched tight, hear the clang of pitons on the hardware loop, and smell the granite dust when the hammer hits the rock.
Not to mention the happy joy of being outside, on the rock in the sun.
