The BIN is primarily a Book Sale with other nifty items tossed in to spice things up. Books new & used and lots of them. I'm also bringing my own collection of Climbing Rags (some R&I) for the BIN. Issues 94 to 178 or something like that for donation.

Marty Lewis, the man who got Peter Croft to put pen to paper (The Good the Great and the Awesome) has donated a full range of guidebooks for the Buy It Now event. Come and get 'em over at the BIN table.

The fest is really shaping up to be a grand event. So many people are coming from great distances to show their love for the Gordon's and join together with others that feel the same. A terrific display of our community - we should all be proud to be a part of such a wonderful group.
As many of you are planning on heading out early I wanted to pass along some requests from our Guest of Honor.
New, old or future friends are welcome at Todd's house anytime from Friday morning to Sunday mid-day. Todd is taking Friday off work to prepare the Ranch. Helping hands welcome before and after the Fest for clean-up appreciated.
Drive slow in neighborhood, don't block driveways and don't scream and act like maniacs while walking to/out from the ranch. This is a residential neighborhood - please respect the neighbors.
Bring Beer - The kegs that the AAC are sponsoring will NOT last. In ALL previous Fests the beer had run dry long before the party ended. We've left late-comers, volunteers and even band members with no suds. So if you're wondering where you could kick in and what to bring.... the answer is BEER! There should be some coolers and ice so grab a sixer to two and head on up.
Please bring more women! Todd wants to see the ladies - he sees enough of the old dudes drinking beer and wants more women to attend. Great opportunity to bring your sister, cousin, wife, girlfriend or just a gal pal. Get 'em out here!
Kids can attend, but it's not really a kid party......adult drinking, some pot smoking, foul language, loud music, and not a lot of kids.
Please, no dogs. We all know that your dog (like ours) is an angel and not the problem but.............there is always problems and chances are your Fito was there. Todd has personally requested that you leave the pooch at home.
Cooking or prepping is to be done at your own rig or stove. There is plenty of space & outside water to cook and prepare your grub. The kitchen is off-limits for common use.
Utilize Port-a-Potties. The inside loo(s) are closed for public use. Clean potties are being delivered for when you need them. Guys and gals that still like to tinkle behind the bush - have at it. #2 or for the more civilized.......use the port-a-johns.
Don't steal
Stay and support the band! "The Eldo prancers and sport climbers, beefers and peeble-wrestlers that go to bed at 9 PM are pathetic" Party-goers should plan to stay until AT LEAST midnight to support the band and the gathering of the tribe.
NO UNDERAGE DRINKING. If and when the cops come, that is the ONLY thing they are looking for....not pot or too many people...but UNDERAGE DRINKING.
DON'T DRINK & DRIVE! Bring your bivy sack or sleep in your front seat but don't get behind the wheel and drive off if you're impaired. Todd has graciously offered to let whomever sleep at the house. He has multiple acres and plenty of space. Bring tent, bag or whatever and plan on staying if you're going to get blotto!
Most importantly - have FUN! Todd is so thankful and humbled by the response people have shown for this event, in his honor. Wear a smile, bring a few stories and have a great time!
Thanks everyone, looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Are you in need of a new backpack? It's bigger than a BootyRider™, larger than a day-pack - We've got a great Salmon Sky Uni-sex 25 liter backpack on the Silent Auction. View, Bid and Win on Saturday!

Why I love Todd. Just talked to him and yo dude pretty much convinced me to join in climbing on Sunday and leave the cleaning up til later. Told him I haven't climbed much in a year. And he said......
"Sure you can do that and this one and of course this one. You can hangdog the two hard ones. No problem."
What a Bro. Not many finer. Just may......Smiles, lynne

I should be arriving sometime Friday afternoon and hope to find a campsite in the Park. I'll need directions again to Todd's, since I've only been there once a year ago. If someone would please send me a personal? I'll be at the group climbing on Sunday and will be available to climb on Monday; returning home Tuesday AM. Weather permitting, I'll be arriving at KTNP Friday afternoon; otherwise I'll drive and get there about the same time.
SCseagoat & Ferretlegger: do you want to climb on Monday?

Okay, here is a cut/paste of some directions I sent to someone else. If you're not familiar with Josh then note that Park Blvd = Quail Springs. Park is listed downtown Joshua Tree at the stoplight (near Nomads), start heading what starts off as south towards the park and at some point changes to Quail Springs. You'll hit the turn offs a few miles up........... it also can be mapped on google unlike a lot of houses around there. But to be safe...........
<snip>
Todd's place is 9561 Star Lane in Joshua Tree.
Take Park Blvd aka Quail Springs towards the Park. Watch for Skyline - hang a right go up the dirt road which is kinda bumpy and pseudo washed out until you hit Star Lane - hang a left. At the very top of Star Lane is Todds.
Option 2 - you blow past Skyline, or don't see it. Take a right on Rincon (which is one street past Anaconda). Stay right don't deviate on any of those left hand streets although they look tempting, it winds around some for a while, thinking you've gone too far. Shitty road more bumpy dirt road until you hit Star Lane. Hang a left - up at the top of the street is Todd's house (on the left).
Cheers, see ya in a few days.

To confuse you further:
from Park Blvd, AKA Quail Springs Rd. :
Right on Rincon, left on Via Rocosa, right on Hi View, left on Star Lane go straight until you hit the house.
Or: Right on Rincon, go a ways, then left on Star Lane until you crash into the house.
