-You cannot dream your self into a character; you must hammer and forge one for yourself.

This thread saddened my:

Much respect for many of you, saddened and ashamed for others, suffering begets suffering.
Bust out the chisel, bury this thread in stone -bury the cruelty.

Shining your way all the same, sending peace, love, and good happiness through the thickness of your hearts.

yea, i heard about the OC sheriff, an extreme case, an obvious embarrassment. but i'm not talking about that, fattrad. i'm talking about the picky-picky you-broke-the-law stuff we're referencing here. law enforcement never applies it to itself.

well, drifting the thread here, fattrad, but it couldn't happen to a better thread, no?

the one i usta see all the time was highway patrol cars heading south on desoto blvd. to HQ at the end of shifts, doing a good 50-55 in a 35-45. really makes points for you with the public that way, especially when you lurk at the bottom of a long grade and fill your quota (oops, sorry--quotas are ILLEGAL, aren't they?) picking on people who didn't quite ride their brakes hard enough. but that's the point. law enforcement doesn't give a thomas crapper about setting a good example.

I think in the recent R&I Coz makes the same statements about LEO returning an illegal substance to him.

From the mind clearing air of Patagonia threads like this and all of the WOS threads plus many more, make ST look like the perfect home for drama queens and climbing voyeurs. That so many, so passionately care about these things blows what little mind I have left.

Just got to Coyhaique and the weather is perfect- going further south tomorrow.

No WOS bullsh#t, no political or religious garbage- rather nice overall.

Donini -- "From the mind clearing air of Patagonia ..."

Even from way out down there your "mind" has still captured you and sent you back here to "see" what's going on"

LOL

Perhaps we should start a thread on the politics of Chile, so as to refresh Jim's memory. For example, the election of Allende's feckless socialist government in 1970, followed by a US/CIA backed coup in 1973 and Allende's death. Followed by twenty years of US-backed reactionary military dictatorship, and the deaths of thousands. None of which, of course, could possibly be of any interest or relevance to foreign property-owners and climbers in Patagonia now.

Supertopo only exists in popularity because it is a rad thing to have so many legends and general climbing characters sharing their adventures, mishaps, injuries, triumphs and everything else with us.

EXACTLY! We KNOW you have more stories, Hank, please tell...
