So, Janet, did you ever get the urge to try climbing then?

Maybe you and LEB should climb something. Get Kate to be your guide!

So let me get this straight...

You were a little more than chummy with that BoW character, and he never wanted to take you climbing????

I'm beginning to think Brutus and Dingus are the original subjects of Brokeback Mountain.

Seriously, talk to Kate. Drag LEB out of her vicarious climbing experiences. Think of the conversations you three could have, LOL!

"It seems, however, that like everyone else, climbers have a life outside of climbing and, as such, they then become people. "

Lois,

If Janet has dated one of us then I'm sure she can probably testify that statements like this can represent a very risky and dangerous assumption. In reality there are times when that vaunted transition never occurs; other times it happens so fast and for such a brief period of time that the average person could not realistically detect it without some pretty sophisticated instrumentation. Best to always keep your guard up and your radar on...

HAHAHA, so, you DID read my crappy music thoery of women, eh Crimposter??

I'm just amazed that some of these women have not raked me over the coals for revealing all their secrets.

Lois, look at it this way: Climbing is often easier than walking. Trust me on that one. I know it sounds impossible, but it is true. I have a terrible knee problem that never hurts when climbing.

YOu're just going to have to try it out one day.

Whoever accused me of watching the L word, hate to tell you, I've never seen it. Although I am sure, if they had their way, some of my exes would love to see me in that movie called, "let's draw and quarter that @$$hole for what he did against womankind!!!!"

Actually the women I was married to were more more in tune with womanunkind.

HEHEHEHE!

Hey T*R!

Rake you over the coal, Squirtineye? Are you kidding? Now that our secrets have been revealed, I can tell the rest of it - we like an audience when the crappy music starts. It's part of how we manage to never get bored....

Lois, you should try some 5.0-5.2 climbng, in the North Carolina area. It's like hiking, but more fun, with a better view.

Now Lois, avert your eyes dear.

Why Crimpie, I would never squirt in your eye.

I know where it's supposed to go, ROTFLMAO!

Now now Janet, such puns will not be tolerated. Unless I make em.

hey PC,

My first initial is S but i think you're still safe. I think I know where all my climber ex's are and none of 'em are on the east side. Just having a bit o fun.

How 'bout that Clara Hughes? I used to bike race against her back when I wasn't so old fat or lazy (obvoiusly she was a lot more talented than me). She finally got her Gold medal. Couldn't happen to a nicer human. First woman to ever win an olympic medal in both Summer (cycling) and Winter (speed skating) olympics.

You ought to come out to J-tree at the end of March. It'd be great to meet and climb and just hang out. Sounds like a great group will be there!

Crimpie,

Thanks for the invite. I just may. In the interests of full disclosure I'm obliged to tell you that I am, at present, a non climber, ever since July 6, 05, when one of my hopelessly flimsy knee ligaments decided it didn't want to hold my knee together anymore.

This is a stiuation that I hope to rectify as early as tomorrow, when I am scheduled to have another visit to the orthopedic surgeon. Historically these visits have been ugly, however tomorrow I'm expecting a go ahead for full activity, since I'm now six months post ACL reconstruction.

Unlike Melissa, who was back to climbing much earlier, I have been reluctant to push it, since this was knee operation #5, albeit it the first one on my formerly pristeen left knee, but I'm hoping to call it quits there, at least for a few years.

If things go as expected, and I do get to go climbing, never a brave leader at the best of times, I will probably be leading 5.1, whiney on top rope, and I've always been too fat to sport climb. especially now there will be no chiseled briskets to admire. Still it would be fun to meet some of you guys in person.

Canadian girls rock! Of our 24 medals, 16 have been won by women or women's teams.

I'm really glad Clara Hughes won the gold. It gives her a chance in the spotlight, too, alongside of Cindy Klassen. Clara looks like *such* a sweetie. What a smile!

Sue, Clara is the first Canadian woman to win a medal at both the Summer and Winter Olympics. This from the CBC:

"Noteworthy
Second woman and fourth person ever to win a medal in both the Summer and Winter Olympics"

Congratulations Clara, Cindy and of course Wayne and rink.

PTPP, yeah I saw that, I got carried away in my enthusiam. But first Canadian sounds like people do it all the time ya know?

Second woman ever, Christa Rothenberger was the first, and 2 guys have done it too.

She's a wonderful athlete and she is such a sweetie, she's always been totally nice, down to earth, the opposite of some of those spoiled brats. Any of you Bishop types meet her when she was training there?

Oh, I see. (hehe)

Always good to get woman's point of view on the subject.

maybe you and crimposer should get together for some climbing instruction and sex technique discussion.

But if you hear crappy music watch yourself!

I always think that the Oval Lingotto sounds like something out of the Kama Sutra, like a Venus Butterfly or something.

"You've had a hard day at work today, honey. Why don't you come upstairs and I'll give you a nice oval lingotto....."

Of course, what do I know? I used to think that Fellatio was a character in the Merchant of Venice.

Antonio: "Come hither, Portia. Methinks I need Fellatio as well."
