I'm for banning people who repeatedly and destructively plague the forum. I don't think Pate is there yet.

Pate has a pretty dismal track record. At what point do we stop the love'y huggy feel good B.S. and say enough is enough?

I agree with nutjob: Be hard on the issue not the personality. Hard to do especially when the hurl is directed at Werner and those of us carrying on as we carry on.
The elder statesmen of my generation, Donini, Hann, Werner, Klemens; the Admiral of course deserve their place in a collective appreciation.
It's hard no to to want to euthanize the kook making this particular post, but Peter probably has the best solution and that's a shunning in every sense of the word. It's obvious this ego has outstripped the mind. A shun should put him over a figurative if not literal, edge.
