People like Norwegian and others (read me also) put their heart into writing. It's Art. It's not just a glib quip.....we think, we edit, we rework...even on these seemingly nonsensical posts.
Every once in a while one finds words, phrases .....even paragraphs that lite up the sky for themselves or others. Course we don't copy these or go to extraordinary measures to save because they are on the ST archives.
Unless the Thread gets deleted. Then it's gone.

Jaybro, we should "do lunch"....email me and I'll give you my cell #.
Or I could just post it here!
(You know the area code)
the next three digits are...
35N- (N=the number of times t*r and I have climbed together)
the next four digits are...
4X3X (X=the number of times t*r and I have had sex)
Hint: N+X+X= not a prime number
Oh and Trip,
The Big Kahuna IS a badass, and a nice guy, but hopefully , he doesn't see this.....for your sake.;)

Shack!
Back there when I said who is that wuss, or whatever I said, I was being
facetious(take notes/good excuse to use). Like when somebody walks up and asks the chick on the real Shacks arm "Who's 'Tiny'"?
OK! Maybe that didn't illustrate so well.
Actually I was being facetious.
I have heard many a haole 'surfer boy' use that term on the North Shore just before they got there azz kicked by some Moke! Didn't work, but occasionally it would get the Moke to pause long enough for 'surfer-boy', to haul-azz outta there.
No seriously! Big Kahuna I apologise for being a jerk.
Peace!
Trip~

folks, this is the internet. in addition to its many disadvantages, it has a few advantages over more structured creative products, like newspapers, books, archives, and research libraries. one of those advantages is that the net is by nature transient.
there is nothing permanent here.
st is a marketing platform for guidebooks. it is privately run. it is not a not-for-profit, it is not a public institution, and it could disappear at any time. if something happens to chris, or if he builds the brand sufficiently to generate a big corporate offer, or if something nasty enough happens in the forums to generate unwelcome attention from authorities, it's gone.
anything you sweat over, edit, or otherwise cherish should be saved to your hard drive and backed-up in multiple formats.
sic transit gloria mundi
or something like that.

"If you want to understand more fully about rude people look over the course of history how some folk here have consistently treated TR."
Or how people have treated Lois.
Whatever.
If your point is that her behavior is due to vulnerability she feels due to past treatment from others (Lois claimed similar), then t*r needs to suck it up, buttercup. Or find another forum to prance around on.
This girl gets waaaaaayyyyy too much attention on this forum, methinks, mostly from a bunch of older guys. It's kind of icky.

No my point is she can and should delete any thread she wishes and she don't owe no one no apology for it neither.
Gotta disagree with that. To start a thread here is to invite others to not just read your thoughts, but to contribute theirs. To then delete those contributions is just plain rude.
So yeah, it's quite true that she can delete her own threads, but if she does, then she has no right to complain about people dissing her for it. You've raised kids Dingus, and you should recognize eight-year-old behavior when you see it. If your daughter behaved the way t*r did, I bet you'd have called her on it. Somehow, I just can't picture you telling your daughter that she can do anything she wishes and don't owe no one no apologies. So why cut t*r that slack?
If she doesn't want people to join in on her threads, then why not just refrain from posting them in the first place?

Ghost, you're making way too much sense, and I expect you to be accused of picking on the poor young thing...

Nah, I'm not picking on her. If anything, I'm picking on Dingus.
As to t*r, I think she's a fun presence here. Lots of energy, rarely says nasty things about other people, seems to enjoy climbing and boarding... I hope she continues to post. But at the same time I hope she realizes that deleting threads others have put some effort into is rude.

Ghost - just funnin' ya...
I have knott only been accused of picking on the darling, I've been called a STALKER and indirectly (by her) a Creepy Old Guy™,
basically for expressing my distain for her anti-social online behavior. I've since gotten over it (well, knott really, but mostly)...

Anyone who starts a thread has a right to delete it, esp. when it has deteriorated or completely wandered from the OP, or develops a very negative, destructive tone about it. I have no qualms with an occasional choice to delete a thread when something like this has occurred.
t*r, on the other hand, regularly deletes threads- though many are downright childish and worthy of deletion (better yet, should never have been posted, in my opinion), some of her threads are quite interesting to many people. Deleting them is disrespectful of those who have contributed, and it appears to be nothing more than attention-getting behavior.
I suppose while it's her choice to start/end threads, it is everyone else's choice to post to them- if you don't care much about your posts disappearing, then have fun with it. Otherwise, find another thread to contribute to, where they are more likely to stick around.
