Weight. Just wait. Not Tom Waitts. Not Waitress In a Doughnut Shop.
Not The Weight (Annie's had enough). if you wait patiently it won't come any sooner. Waiting isn't worth waiting for.

Lyrics By: Robert Hunter
Music By: Jerry Garcia
Please don't dominate the rap, Jack
If you got nothing new to say
If you please, don't back up the track
This train's got to run today
I spent a little time in the mountain
Spent a little time on the hill
I heard some say "better run away"
Others say "better stand still"
Now I don't know but I've been told
It's hard to run with the weight of gold
Other hand I heard it said
It's just as hard with the weight of lead
Who can deny? Who can deny?
It's not just a change in style
One step done and another begun
In I wonder how many miles?
I spent a little time on the mountain
Spent a little time on the hill
Things went down we don't understand
But I think in time we will
Now I don't know but I was told
In the heat of the sun a man died of cold
Do we keep on coming or stand and wait
With the sun so dark and the hour so late?
You can't overlook the lack Jack
Of any other highway to ride
It's got no signs or dividing lines
And very few rules to guide
I spent a little time on the mountain
Spent a little time on the hill
I saw things getting out of hand
I guess they always will
Now, I don't know but I've been told
If the horse don't pull, you got to carry the load
I don't know whose back's that strong
Maybe find out before too long
One way or another
One way or another
One way or another
This darkness got to give
[etc]

I'm curious gFlores, how does one determine that this bird has flown or gone astray?

i knew you could explain it. Now, one more. Did you know at the time you took the photograph (wouldn't it be nicer if the subject gave the photograph?) the rarity of the event.
My experience with birds is kind of limited to knowing my friend Larry, who did a Master's thesis on coots.
and thank you for the handy bird reference

Yes, I knew it was a rarity. I was on a birder's email list and they always send out announcements about such events. Finding the bird even though one knows approximately where they hang out is another story. The booby being the size that it is was certainly easier than looking for say something the size of a tanager; but still they sometimes are where someone said they last saw them and most of the time they are not. I am not a "birder" per se; but a bird photographer. So of course I kept checking and looking for it until I finally found it. At another time there was an adult brown booby in the area and that one hung out at a different place. Once at the harbor I was able to photograph a puffin which was also very rare. Most of the time though, I photograph the residents and the migrants; rarities are more difficult to encounter. And what is a rarity one place is a common bird in another. I live in Appalachia and on the east coast the only hummingbird that really is seen around here is the ruby-throat. A rarity would be an Anna's hummingbird which is very common in California and one I have photographed many times. And speaking of coots--they are very very common most places but not only a rarity in Hawaii but considered endangered there...

We have two feeders and see a lot of (what most likely are Rubies) hummingbirds. They can be very aggressive.
Anyway, now I'm gonna have to ask Mr. Murdoch, just what it was that he determined about those coots (in the back bay of Newport Beach).
OT: My little dog is named Ruby and we sure had a good ol' time making hand-cranked ice cream and home made salsa from Jeanie's garden. Don't touch your eyes.
Oh yeah, trouble ahead, trouble behind, but is anything endangered in the Flames thread(za)?

I either remembered, dreamed or upon reflection determined that I had seen this all before.
Some might say that all the rounders here are collectively unconscious
alternatively, as Carl viewed it:
The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

Why's France north of Corsica istead of south?
Photoshop some drivel I found, put it on TP, then post it on ST, then claim you are a Norwegian poet, challenge the greatest of all dead hipster poets with something he cannot ever do.
