Hey BVB, missing the politricks?

That photo? Flashback to the 80's or was it early 90's? History NEArly has a way of repeating itself, at least I hope not.

Wow, I actually go climbing for a few days, and come back to this....

One of the things I like about this forum is the level of self control and decency that 95% of the posters have. It's quite rare to find a forum that is essentially un-moderated. I rarely post much, but do lurk quite a bit. The last few months, things have gotten to the point where I've been avoiding the forum, because the incessant bickering that goes on in the OT threads seemed to be spilling over into the relevant threads. The level of civility that used to be present here has been lacking. Hopefully everybody can check their egos, go back to playing nice, and realize that we are guests of CMac here, and we play by his rules. There are plenty of other forums where photoshopping a dick on someone's forehead is not only allowed, but encouraged... Maybe some people should go post there.

I woke up in a cold sweat. Somehow I sensed that Apogee had outed me. All the trouble I went to in order to have an encrypted avatar - wasted.

(Actually I was just copying RGold. As always, he succeeded where I failed. No one knows who Goldstone is. The truth? He considers the question completely unimportant. { That's the way it is with algebraic topolgists.} )

Caylor has it right though. Who someone is makes no difference as long as you are running your life as you think is right. Each person is their own judge and jury. That's a hard job though. Have to work at it each and every day.

I wonder if the idea "no control is needed on the internet" is part of a search for ultimate freedom. Some sort of idealized concept. A concept idealized to the point of becoming meaningless. What's the reward for being a slave to the "search for freedom"? I need help. Have not figured that out.

Following your own chosen path, and changing it when the need arises, seems good.

A thought on the atmosphere here.

If you close your hand into a fist, you will meet only people who are ready to fight.

Why do this?

Cragman,

I hadn't finished my first cup of coffee when I looked at your post, I had to get a paper towel to wipe my screen off to clarify.

Give Fatty a chance....sure he's a blowhard for the political right but he can be generous, as anyone who has been to Facelift can attest to.

donini - One's generosity is not a good reason for keeping them around and it does not excuse them for being a virtual dickhead.

From the looks of it fattard seems to be taking this in stride. Or haven't you heard? Fattard does not need supertopo. He can make plenty of money anywhere he goes because he is an able bodied human being.

And I think that supertopo has shown that it does not need fattard. Much like a surgeon Chris extracted the tumor with a scalpel. If Chris was more like fattard he might have used a chainsaw and let the chips fall where they may.

The tone on supertopo has changed with his absence. It's less negative. Maybe not by much.

I've not read hardly anyone saying to not let him back. But he needs a good long time out in my opinion. CMac is making a point and that point gets defeated if we were to all team up and vote for him back on the island in short order.

How long of a time out is long enough? IT's better for everyone really. Fatty needs to think long and hard about why his actions got him booted. He seems to not understand it. He needs to otherwise he won't change.

That is evident in TheTools posting - nothing changed.

as far as skipt goes - he should be gone for good. The other two.... not sure.
