This forum is a great place to write things down, because people will give honest, even viciously libelous, feedback to what they read. It serves as a record of what is transpiring through the Querencia Phase of the Trump Presidency.
Twitter is too restrictive. I laugh when I see people commence a Twitter Tantrums with "1/9" because they need 3960 characters, not 440, to make their point.
Trump does the "dot, dot, dot, dot, dot-dot-da-da-dot-dot" thing that Stephen Colbert translates into English so well.
Someday, we will be able to look back at these times, and laugh.
But, not just yet.

Laugh it up, Fuzzball.

I once saw a golfer on TV attempting the winning putt of a PGA event. As the ball rolled, he did a bit of a celebration walk/dance for the crowd. The ball lipped the cup, and stayed high and dry. His opponent beat him on a playoff hole, and he, too, was left high and dry.
He who laughs last, laughs best.
My old joke about shooting a 70 was that I could only do it at Sea Pines, which is a nine-hole course where you tee off with a pitching wedge about half of the time.

ATG, Trump likes sheep, as you do I imagine.
Goats for me. Dickhead. And when you pray to your almighty Lord, when you think you have given water to poor villagers, to soothe your soul, not their thirst, then tell me how righteous you are.
I am having fun, you silly right-wing snowflakes.
EDIT
You have to understand one thing, my poor right-wing snowflake, I look at a number of sources for news and opinion. Russ disses me because he is stuck in his rhetoric, in Utah or right-wing hell, whatever. I see you people. I read this thread. I laugh. And I cry.
The joke is on you and I, the 1% or so love that we argue. They want division. It is not Deep State, as such, it is Corporatocracy, Perhaps they go hand in hand. Trump is just a puppet. He is just a symptom of the malaise that affects us all.
I have no answers to this condition. I have ideas, whether they are workable or not…
I admit, I do not know what the future is. But look up the definition of fascism. I see it unfolding in the US and elsewhere.
It is not a healthy state of affairs, just ripe for a novel.
And again, you right-wing nutters, mock me. I do not care. I should, but I don't.
EDIT
And Russ, Maggie Thatcher had more balls than you will ever have,

What is Russian for, "gotcha ya'"
(You Really) Got Me Good
It's a song by Emin Agalarov, the pop-star son of a Russian oligarch who was the connective tissue between Trump Tower Moscow and Vladimir Putin.
Emin was a host of Trump's now-notorious 2013 Miss Universe Pageant that took place in Moscow. Emin was the one who contacted Don Jr. to set up the now-notorious 2016 meeting in Trump Tower where Don Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort met with Russian agents to obtain "dirt" on Hillary Clinton.
Emin mocks and ridicules Trump in his new music video. Emin knows that Trump's demise is at hand, and that he has to get his timely pop tune out there, now, before its relevance expires.

MORE PROOF THAT TRUMP IS AN OPPORTUNISTIC LIAR
LIKE OTHER CON MEN, HE SIZES UP HIS MARKS, AND TAILORS HIS DECEPTIVE DELIVERY TO FIT THE SITUATION
Trump now says:
"OK, OK, OK, I think the Russians did it . . . . . . ."
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/17/world/europe/trump-putin-summit.html
Reality, to Trump, is relative to himself. For him, there is no objective reality. It's all about him.
When it served his purpose, he said, There was no Russian meddling.
Now that it serves his purpose, he says, Yes, there was Russian meddling.
Trump is like a weather vane, twisting and turning in the wind, always following which way it blows.
Ironically, ATG makes really nice weather vanes.
It is highly likely that Trump will say that he was the very first person to acknowledge that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election.
Or, he might say that he was the one who tipped off Robert Mueller about the Trump Tower meeting, using a secret, coded message (his false narrative about adopting Russian babies) to throw the Fake News hounds off the scent.
It's what I do.
Donald Trump
President Trump said on Tuesday that he had misspoken a day earlier in Helsinki, Finland
“The sentence should have been ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,’ sort of a double negative,” he said.
How's it coming with the wax job, Biff?
I'm just now finishing up the second coat, Mr. McFly.
Now, Biff, don't you try to con me . . . .
I'm sorry, Mr. McFly. What I meant to say was, 'I'm just now getting ready to start on the second coat'.
That Biff; what a character.

In a stunning about-face, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he had “full faith” in America’s intelligence agencies — a day after he appeared to dismiss their conclusion that Russia meddled in the US elections while standing side by side with Vladimir Putin.
Speaking at the White House, in remarks which were not broadcast on live TV, he also said “I accept” the intelligence community’s verdict that meddling took place — but that there was “no collusion.”
Did he shoot himself in the shoe?

I have left my guard down a number of times on this forum. I did so in the belief that most Supertopians are honest and good people. But I see there are some shitbags.
Okay, that is life.
I wish ill upon nobody.
But some people have decided to seize upon my admissions of human frailty to belittle me.
Boo hoo.
I cry, not for myself, but for their ignorance. It must be a terrible thing to go through life an ignoramus. I pity them.

Patrick, while you are at it, can you email Trump and let him know that Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom?
Trump seemed to be confused on that point last weekend, when he was sneaking in some free advertising for his golf courses while speaking about the United Kingdom. The only countries he mentioned were Scotland (Turnberry and Balmedie) and Ireland (Doonbeg).
For Trump, the only reality is what is immediately relative to himself.
No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant.
Senator John McCain of Arizona
When Domitian tried to pull that appeasement nonsense with Decebalus, and tried to bribe the Dacian terrorist into passivity, it blew up in his face.
Domitian's soldiers rose up and killed him for embarrassing them and the Empire.

I like Presidents who weren't caught (lying to the public).

Here are some quotes by GOP Senators regarding Trump's disgraceful press conference as Putin's Poodle in Helsinki:

Translation: f*#k you as#@&%es = I can still lead 5.11, ass wipes.
Why don't you prove it and earn $100 for the charity of your choice? I'll make it 100 euros even, pretty close to the same these days.
Just post the video. (But please be very careful--don't try it when you've been drinking and choose a safe route--I know you get very excitable, but I don't want to see you, or anyone else, get hurt -- been there done that.)

I've never heard anyone confess to liken to dork farm animals. From Wiki........
The Enumclaw horse sex case was a 2005 incident in which Kenneth Pinyan (1960–2005), a Boeing engineer residing in Enumclaw, Washington, died from injuries received during receptive anal sex with a stallion at a farm in an unincorporated area in King County, Washington, near the city of Enumclaw. Pinyan distributed zoophile porn under the alias Mr. Hands.
During a July 2005 sex act, videotaped by a friend, Pinyan suffered a perforated colon from receptive anal intercourse with a stallion and later died of his injuries. The story was reported in The Seattle Times and was one of that paper's most read stories of 2005. It was informally referred to as the "Enumclaw horse sex case". Video footage of Pinyan and a horse was later disseminated through the Internet.
I believe the guy who set this up was some climber type person from B.C. I seem to recall a Taco thread about this.

Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, has a big agricultural program, with all sorts of animals, plants, crops, etc.
About ten years ago, some guy who was graduating with an agricultural degree was taken by his "friends" out to the ovine unit for his going-away party.
The campus police arrived to find the intoxicated graduate not quite in congress with those ladies, ovine, but he was wearing the stereotypical rubber boots for sticking their hind legs into.
The cops turned him over to his "friends" with a warning to not molest the sheep.
I couldn't find the Cal Poly incident using Google.
But, a computer science guy (geek?) at Fresno State* was facing serious charges after being arrested after he got drunk and was "stressed about midterm exams".
The newspaper story doesn't say if he had a tattoo that read I Love Ewe.
http://abc7.com/news/fresno-state-student-sexually-assaults-sheep-police-say/396372/
Where have you been? We thought you left the party.
I was out back, by the pens. I almost got laid.
Really?
Yeah. But, when I went to stick it in, I got kicked in the shins.
True story dialogue.
* Walt "Malt Whipley" Shipley got his mechanical engineering degree from Fresno State. At no time is it suggested that he did anything worse than say, "Ma-Ma-Ma-Ma-Mammaries" at a frat party, and then run for his life.
This is a climbing related post, after all.
RUSS:
You are the portaledge expert, and have been for decades. I still can't believe people still use aluminum for the frame tubes. There was an A5 for sale here recently with typical damage to the soft metal. Your cro-moly frame is, as they say, the BEST, the GREATEST. You know what you are talking about. We trust you.
Is it possible to shrink a portaledge's nylon fabric bed back down, if it is stretched out? I was thinking hot water and a hot clothes dryer. Or, maybe the careful use of a hot-air gun.
Also, have you ever tried polyester sail cloth, instead of nylon ripstop? Apparently, rust pickers prefer polyester for their sails because it has better UV resistance, and doesn't stretch out, like nylon.

You know, down where I live, I get the Tuskar Rock Lighthouse flashing by every night. It reminds me how precarious life can be. it reminds me how precious life can be.
I sit here and 'trade' words with people. People I do not know. And then I see that light, flashing across the Celtic Sea. And I wonder, "Why do I bother with people I do not know?"
I guess because, I like people.

Meanwhile America just got a little better... for foreign influenceTrump administration will allow ‘dark money’ political donors to hide their identities

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced this week that the Treasury Department would allow 'dark money' political donors to hide their identities when giving to politically active nonprofits. (Photo credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)
The U.S. Treasury Department announced Monday that it would no longer require politically active nonprofit groups to disclose their donors to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), a move heralded by conservatives as a major win for “free speech.”
Under the new rules, tax-exempt organizations like the National Rifle Association will no longer need to file “personally-identifiable information” in their end-of-year returns. Other groups which would be let off the hook from disclosure include politically active nonprofits, which conservative donor Robert Mercer previously used to help finance Donald Trump’s election campaign.
“Americans shouldn’t be required to send the IRS information that it doesn’t need to effectively enforce our tax laws, and the IRS simply does not need tax returns with donor names and addresses to do its job in this area,” Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said in a statement. “The IRS’s new policy for certain tax-exempt organizations will make our tax system simpler and less susceptible to abuse.”

NBC news was not kind to Trump tonight, although they are just reporting the facts & not calling for his resignation or impeachment.
They also reported that some Fox News folks also were not being good Trumpian touts & some had actually condemned his Helsinki debacle.
