Weege tells me they are sills Tad! And yes you must return. I quite enjoyed my visit. Just about to jump in the truck and head off to the ditch now!
Right on Todd! Thanks! Sometimes you gotta work to get back to the stuff you love!! Thank god for ski patrol and modern medicine/gf strong! If not for that i'd still be in a chair. Perhaps permanently.
Phylp, that's the goal!! ;)
Thanks Dave! And thanks for the rad dinner party!!
Too funny W!
I took a couple pics of weege's fantastic house today.

Yabuddy! So Stoked for you guys. Just so ya know my cautionary advice over the past few weeks may have seemed doubtful but it was mostly out of jealousy but also because I wanted to shed light on the hazards of starting up a wall with focus on the destination rather then the journey.
Hope you guys enjoy every minute.
You got this!

^^^^^^^ lol!!!
Thanks Bruce!
Thanks Luke. You were so right dude. Luckily it all worked out for the best.
We rolled into the Valley on a beautiful friday afternoon.
Bridalveil fall was pumping!
Well more than i've ever witnessed in the fall..
The nose was ready for suitors. We could only find one party.
After assessing the situation in the meadows we retired to our bivy for the evening.

Saturday morning Weege and I combined our arsenal to figure out our rack for the nose.
I had yet to witness this sight in person but was none the less amazed as usual...
Yosemite Falls
After we got sorted we headed to the bride for our blast. We saw Mickey and Brian, and they offered to help us with our bags.
I started to put the gear bag on my back and Briham offered to carry it for me! I couldn't pass up that offer. I owe you bigtime man!!
My personal Sherpa and his beautiful girl.
I got the haul team to pose for a photo at the base of pine line
Brian on the left, followed by Mickey's lovely Mother, then whitemeat himself and his awesome father Mark. Chuck d aka Norwegian brought up the big loads!!
I led the first pitch of Pine Line and the 4th class to the base of the nose. The haul wad tough but manageable with my 2:1 set up.
When Chuck arrived i realized that i had forgot my aiders!!
We decided to descend for the night and get a last decent night's sleep before an early start.
I felt like a dumbass..

Man, forgot the aiders? That sucks. My brother and I reached the base of Tollhouse once only to realize we left the rope in the truck. F*#k. Great pics and get that toe healed!

Ya dude.. It did suck. Now i get checklists!! Lol
Sunday morning was gorgeous.
El cap meadow was very inviting.
We soloed back up the fourth class to the bags. It seemed much easier on the way up then the onsite on the way down... Lol!
As i neared the bags, i started to see dried raspberries poking out everywhere and i knew that was bad....
It seems the rodents had a feast at our expense...
Weege said, fvck this. I'm over this wall sh!t! Let's go freclimbing!!
So we went and did Bishops Terrace.

Thanks Wayno! We just need to get focused on the goal and look past all the problems. Next time right Weege??!!!
The daily scene on the way back to the bivy.
With our freeclimbing agenda set, we were stoked! We decided to do Superslide 5.9 which was really fun!

Big Mike and Weeg..
Thanks for the stoke. And glad you are both out having fun. It would seem you have both urned it as of late.
Good to see Weeg is out putting a smile on that face.
All the sudden my foot is feeling much better. Not outa the woods yet. Maybe a trip to Squamish this fall unless I am told the conditions suck?
Just maybe though as I wanna go to Cody, Cham, or Newfoundland this winter ice climbing.
Speaking of feet how is the toe?

Toe is still f*#ked.. Lol.
I'm right there with you, buddy. I had a major gout attack in my elbow on Sunday-Monday. By Tuesday it hit my toe. The elbow is getting better but the toe is still fukked. I worked through it yesterday and I still have two busy nights ahead. Hurts like hell, but you get used to it somehow. I'm not sure how or why, but we just move forward.
Peace out, Bro.

it was a good trip, Big Mike.
a scaled-down version of our goal,
even though we did not achieve the summit of el cap,
our climb encouraged you along a treacherous path
from peril to leading valley cracks.
your progress over the past year is so very commendable;
i doubt that i'd have the resolve to surmount
the obstacles that you have bravely overcome.
we shared some incredible climbs, good food, enjoyable bivies,
and other general valley-dirtbag commodities.
keep up the strong strides in your recovery,
have a good remainder of your trip,
and it was premium to meet you.
