The best thing about Trump is what makes Bernie so attractive as well. Neither has been bought and sold by the corporists. Trump is self funding (although he'll be taking in $cratch no doubt) and Bernie is only getting funds from the multitudes. I didn't believe Trump would still be in it now. I'm especially stunned he's leading in the polls, and I have @ $300 bet against the man. Shows you I don't know my fellow citizens at all. However, neither Trump nor Sanders will be beholden to the special interests and in that regard, both are better than Hillary and Jeb!.

Trump in a heartbeat. At least he doesn't (I think) want to turn the US of A into some sort of crypto-Christian fascist state. Well, at least he doesn't want the Christian part. My biggest issue with Cruz (except for the fact he's obviously an as#@&%e) is his desire to turn everyone into an evangelical Christian; just leave me alone, Ted, and let me believe what I want to, as I allow you to.

Actually, I think this a a ploy on his part. I think he is so narcisistic that he thinks he won't lose support if he doesn't debate, and he is probably right.

The latest I've heard is he is threatening to produce some sort of counter debate with him as the only participant. Frankly, I would watch that before I watch the Repugs again. Fox and the Repugs should take this seriously, because it will really hurt their brand if more people watch the Donald than watch the rest of the clown car.

It's a really shrewd political move by Cruz. He would basically turn the entire Republican race into Trump vs. Cruz and the other debates would be defacto "kid table" debates. He's a rabid ideologue and a smarmy d#@&%e but a smart guy for sure.

Honestly, Dingus, if you feel like this is some sort of moment of truth then you aren't really thinking about it. Trump is being completely manipulative. If they cave, he gets to tout his amazing power. If they don't, he gets to look like the guy speaking truth to the power of the evil media. Trump is a con artist and you're his mark.

I echo DMT'S sentiments. I might add that all msm are guided by an ideology nowadays, although fox' numero uno guiding principle is good old fashioned profit on their core business. Acknowledging that, they'll be keenly aware of indications of viewership and adjust stance as necessary to maintain the high rate of ad revenue.
