Bruce, (Don't think we ever met so sorry for the familiarity)

While it is nigh impossible for most people to make it in the art world that does NOT mean she should keep her talents hidden in boxes. Set up a site and get her stuff out in the open. Even a few sales a year is better than nothing. Forget about the money, think of the confidence and happiness it may bring to her and those who purchase. Or find people who make climbing shirts (smile) who can help her get the image onto the backs of those who value nice climbing art.

Your sister has a strong talent that most do not come close to possessing.

That Lazy Bum shot brought back memories... Very nice!

Bruce Adams?? Is this who I think it is?

Do you know Keith Royster, Mel Johnston, and Jay Kerr?

As for the location, it was 30 yrs ago and the access points have changed/evolved for the worse for the most part.

I don't remember exactly where it is, but it is upriver from Bachelor Village and definitely down river from the Meadow Camp bouldering. It's on the Bachelor Village side of the river. It is more basaltic in nature and not like the tuft up at Meadow Camp.

It's very striking with a shelf 20' feet off the ground which you can see in the art work. The roof has a thin crack splitting it which widens a bit above the lip. It's not a huge roof, but it kicked my *ss a couple times before I got it.

I actually worked the thing out (Which Bob saw me do) but ran out of gas. Bob got the first, and I fired it on my next try.
Never forgive him for that....just kidding.

It was probably 20 years ago when I heard there was an unfriendly property owner on top now. Have no idea what to tell you about that.

Thanks Survival! I don't think I've met those dudes so you must know the esteemed "Colorado Bruce Adams," who I finally met about three years ago. I'm from Poway, So Cal.

Some trail expansion has taken place on The Deschutes upriver from Bend this past year, though I don't know the extent of it. I stopped going to Bend for bouldering when Awbry Meadows bouldering site was demolished. I bet some of the Bend locals know about the roof and hope I get on it someday. Thanks again!

I still cannot believe that the Awbrey rocks were destroyed.
We did soooo much great climbing there BITD. Sh*t!

It was the most beautiful and powerful thing up there.

I felt so stupid and confused when I drove around up there looking for it one time. I thought, gawd, it can't have been that long since I was up here...how can I NOT find these rocks??
