Hmmm, I thought we were comparing McCain and Obama, that is to say apples and apples.
Kennedy's family wealth is no secret, nor are the dubious ways in which it was acquired, nor is the wealth of Kerry and his wife. Neither seems relevant here - it is also no secret that almost all senators are wealthy men (sometimes women), and that whichever party wins, the Property Party (aka the "Greed is Good" party) will have its fingers in the pie.

Hmm,
comparing McCain to Obama.
McCain's wife's trust owns a bunch of houses. She lets elderly aunts etc. live in them for free.
Obama has a half brother, (George) that lives in a 6'X 9' shack outside Nairobi on $12 a year.
Doesn't Barrak have a spare room in his mansion in Chicago?

Wow TGT you nailed him. What a selfish prick. I mean clearly a guy who just managed to land some decent coin in the last 3 years cause of a couple book deals is a total prick cause his half-brother (who probably wants to stay in Nairobi) lives in what passes for normal housing there while the uber-rich peeps with more houses than they can remember are super generous for hooking up their Aunt. Well said.
Also let me sum up all of Skipts posts: Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try. Nice try.

Hmmm, the witness seems to be evading the questions.
I didn't vote last time - I have not the honour of being a citizen of the U.S.A. Although one of my grandmothers was born there, and I have many second and third cousins, and friends, there. But as near if not dear neighbours of the U.S., Canadians have a quite direct interest in the outcome of your elections.

Or maybe you could tell him to pull himself up by his bootstraps and stop being so poor. That would work too.

"Also, that analysis did not include the fact that Rezko's parcel became worthless"
Not true, it was proven that the property was now valued at four times what the dude bought it for.
But you might be on to something interesting. Lets convict people of dealing with people who were later convicted of a felony. Hmmmm. who might we know like that.
why, I know, our illustrious president, George Bush. He worked for Enron. Records show that he was involved in the same type of deals that Enron went bankrupt for which its leader was convicted of a felony.
Cool. Thanks Skip. Now we can convict George.

Aren't ad hominem attacks great? They prevent us having to discuss boring issues such as the future of the U.S., which candidate would be the best president to help navigate the U.S. through the shoals of history, and which party best represents the country's interests.
Yes, it's politics, and we know all the parties and candidates are compromised, with the possible exception of the Nader-Chomsky Party. What else is new? If any of them was so badly compromised as to disqualify him/her self, we'd probably know it already. And the fact that all this tittle tattle is in August, a dead month for real news, speaks for itself.
Nope, let's have some boring talk about issues and positions. Noting that by making ad hominem attacks, those who make them usually just betray that they have little of worth to say about the issues.

well,
At least he could send him a twenty dollar bill and double his income.
Maybe he's appreciate a mosquito net? Outhouse? rice cooker? (ok no place to plug it in)

Hey skip, reread my post. I said I didn't find the article where I read it had sold for 4 times the buying price. It is for sell for 1.5 million which is the going price now in that neighborhood. And guess what, you are wrong again. It is a street side property. It doesn't have to go through Obama's property to access it. Just google the pictures if you don't believe me.
I'm through talking to you.

THANK U !!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 all who have posted humorous comments or ignored the string completely. I mean who the F wants to talk politics on a climbing site??? Aren't there enough crappy political comment blogs out there already. Oh yeah, I forgot. The first thing I ask a new climbing partner is if they are a Dem or a Rep and what religion they follow. Sigh. Go somewhere else with your issues.

They are both elitist, just different types. I'm voting for Obama, because it's time to elect a different group of elitist. Some argue that he'll be no different, but all we can do is provide an opportunity.

Skip, I know that many here come at you constantly angry, and I know that I came at you with anger, and I still feel anger towards you.
What bothers me is your constant anger about this subject with Obama. You don't talk about it, you scream it and that affects me. That is my problem, but I hope perhaps that you will see that it is also why so many people scream back at you. You also come across as smug when you use the "try again" statement.
That property was valued by an independent real estate agent for 1.5 million dollars. Whatever its access issues, no one has challenged that valuation. The pictures I have seen show that the property next to Obama is bordered by a street. So it appears to me that it will need a new driveway, but when someone builds a house on it, then will have to redo that whole property and it will no longer be a garden.
So perhaps Rizzo, or whatever his name is saw a chance to make money. I have no doubt he also wanted to gain favor with Obama.
Perhaps Obama made some poor choices here, but according to the people who sold him the house, he made three offers which were each higher until his offer was accepted. He then bought the strip of land next to his house for more then it was valued at. Whatever Rizzo's agenda was, you can not judge Obama for making the best deal that he could.
.......
But all of that aside, Obama is not perfect. But neither is McCain.
I like Obama better then McCain. I have plenty of reasons which I have put forth here over and over again. So you can concentrate on this one issue and make Obama into someone who is evil, ( which many here could do about McCain, his changing his position on torture for one ) or you can look at the total package.
If you want to do that, then perhaps I would join in that conversation. If you want to keep pounding on this one issue, the I am done.
And yes, sometimes I get angry. I try to correct it before it causes any harm and if I offended you, then I apologize. That said, would you please consider changing your attitude. I think you are a nice guy, but lately all you have sounded like is smug and angry.
You don't like me being angry towards you, well I don't like it coming from you.
So I guess we are even. I will work on myself. What you do is up to you.
And by the way, you said you forgave me for attacking you, but it appears to me that you haven't because you bring it up in every conversation we have. So I will assume that you haven't and I will tell you that your smugness is the reason I don't really want to converse with you.

"Demanding others to live a life by standards THEY deem as fair is the true definition of "Elitism."
This is no different then demanding that we go to war and keeping us in a war that people finally realize we shouldn't be in. Or using Torture.
You support John McCain who is for using torture. He is also for war.
That is a way of Life. That is a set of standards.
You force me, my friends, my family and my country to live by this standard. The standard that says the ends can justify the means therefore torture is okay and war is okay. The standard that says we shouldn't turn the other cheek but instead we should attack, attack, attack.
By your logic, this makes John McCain an elitist and because you support him, it makes you one too. You expect me to live by your standard. Well I denounce it.

Moosie- Dude you think he is using logic? Come on this whole "discussion" is just a series of "oh yeah well your guy did THIS alleged thing which I learned from all the right wing radio I listen to which is clearly an excellent source of information." There is nothing logical about deciding "ooh this guy has a D after his name and so therefore I must try to look for faults even when there might be none and invent the rest."
As Skipt says....nice try.

Hahaha.. yep.. he called me a pussy.
Too funny skip. You vote for what you want, ( war and torture ) and tell me it is only a vote and that you aren't forcing anyone to go to war, but if I vote for Obama, then I am forcing you to live how I want you to. hahaha
Too funny.
Figure it out dude. You can't have it both ways.
Unless of course you volunteer the Republicans to pay for the war and fight the war, then I might let you slide on all the other sh#t that will come down on us from this war. Like more people hating us. Naw.. You pushed us into the dung heap, now we both stink. ( but you didn't force us to, you only voted, but if I vote, then I'm forcing you ) yeah right.
