What worked and works for me,
I canceled all my accounts Facebook included. Started doing both yoga and meditating everyday. Limited my online time and replaced at least half of it with a book. I did this for 6-12 months solid. A step back really, I did not not log in I just did not post and I found something better o fill my time.
I then did my best to enact a new moral and ethic. Epiphany number one was all the time I had been previously spending on the Internet was nothing more than a giant waste of time I could spend doing something actually productive. But even worse was the amount of time I spent being aggravated hostile and but hurt cuz some dude or doodet on the other side of cyberspace I don't know from a hole in the wall was not exactly like me. Sh#t even if I had known even one of these people in the physical form it still would had been just as big a waste of time. And for what because they don't play in the sandbox exactly the same way I do. Most of all was the epiphany that I was letting people who seemed like a waste of air upset me like I could do a dam thing about it. A little different than being disappointed in someone you actually respect.
I fractured my ankle a week ago today. Let's hope I don't start letting my frustration combined with all of this new found extra time and boredom translate into the internet seeing the worst side of me. Time will tell?
Epiphany number two. Do I really want to release more unneeded negativity into the world or do I want to at the least do my best to nurture happiness positivity and general well being and good health.
We reap the seeds we sow. Being happy content and having piece of mind is just the beginning of this concept.
Maybe the most important thing I did was decide that if I was not releasing something positive into cyber space I did not need to share it at all. Guess who won the most adopting and then putting into practice this new way of being ;) It's unbelievable how much less time I walk around being all pissy because I simply decided I was gonna stop contributing to things that add to my pisdyness. Go figure.....
If you wanna sh#t storm away go ahead but you are the one that suffers the most.

Moose, Love your post "Done". I so agree.
To many people (and not just on ST) don't get outdoors enough on a daily basis. Even in the big city, like Bezerkeley, you can puff up Claremont Canyon and come home feeling on top of the world physically, mentally and of course the view of all those Bay Bridges is spectacular. Just an hour a day can change your life.
If you come home from work or where ever and then jump on the computer or just veg I doubt you'll feel as good as getting the lungs and legs going.
Boredom and lack of creativity in life to me ='s entrance into the "fight zone" whether it be with spouse, kids, fellow workers or even on your internet forums.
Instead of the fight response I like the phrase, "Oh, Well." It works for me because it reminds me that we will all never agree and really is it worth the negativity to challenge some people remarks. Life is short, living it with gusto and chill is my goal. I said it's my goal...not that I do it perfectly.
Cheers! Lynnie...............Hi Daphne :))

Well said. As someone said upthread, I don't think you've been out of line at all. "outing" you was beyond the pale. Your introspection is a lesson to us all.

your sniveling has been pathetic and it still continues after your apology
it is hard for people to change
maybe just ignore those you dont like and dont be such a reactionist
all you do is fuel the fire and look like an idiot
Most of us think what RyanD said about you in the other thread
Ryan is the only one who cared to take the energy to say it because as Werner said "you still(just) dont get it"
it will be a long time and many threads before I stop looking at you as Ron's bitch
Edited: for HT is correct

What is to believe and not to believe. There were four Taco Standers who suggested/advised I should take down my silly thread (which may have been A, not THE, but A, catalyst for all of this, but this thread and affiliated ones have been building for years).
I will name the four, no I will not actually, without their permission, but some STers may be surprised who correctly advised me.
Of these four, all have been on the giving/receiving end of abuse, perhaps there is a better way of saying it. Since then, a couple of them have been a bit hypocritical in posts than what they said to me, via email. That's okay. If any of you are not human, then… agahhh there are aliens among us.
Jstan had a point, that has been brought up before… it is called civility. Hold on, this is a lecture and you naughty students best stay in your seats…
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control

All in all you're just another brick in the wall

One thing I will say apogee is that at no point have I considered "greasing" you (and my list is pretty long at this point). I pretty much get where you're coming from. But if some introspective moved you to write this and it makes sense to you then that's a positive.
carry on...

Sounded like a sincere apology and I think its cool. The hardest part of an apology is remembering you made it and acting like you meant it down the road, when the warm fuzzies of the moment have worn off.
As I see you fellas getting all angry and strange and weird over each other here on the fake world of the interwebs I have often wondered.....have you guys ever met in real life? Appogee, do you and Ron know each other outside of this forum?

micronut you make a valid point at first.
but i have to disagree with the "fake world" comment. I say that only from the perspective of having this world collide very often with the physical (actually meeting folks) world. See: SushiFest. I've made a lot of really solid friends here. Many it took years to meet. They were real long before we met.

I'm sure that this has been long-forgotten, but I actually complimented Ron on his work early in the 'Art of Death' thread. (edited: Not that this is intended as any kind of compensation for my recent interactions with him.)

Actions speak louder than words. this is a start but means nothing unless you change your behavior. as far as outing identitys. everyone should be outed. If we all used our real names we would most likly act a bit more civil.
Looks like you guys chased Ron off? I rarely agree with his opinion and he is quick to anger but at least he is a real climber and ocasionaly posts climbing content.
