Those that I know are attending include Al Steck, Dick Long, Glen Denny, Ken Boche, Vern Clevenger, Peter Haan, Joe Mckeown, and rumor has it, TM Herbert. And of course, Tom and Royal. Should be a good time.

Speaking of Tom Frost photos...
Tom will be signing and selling digital prints of his superb photographs along with Royal and his second book at the two scheduled events mentioned by Ken in the OP.
This is a great chance to put some Frost on your walls for a song. We will have a magnificent Frost book out to sign by next year's gathering.
Cheers and don't miss this event!

Note the caption on the hat - looks like "veni, vidi, vici" (Latin). The famous (alleged) words of Julius Caesar - I came, I saw, I conquered. IIRC, Pratt wasn't the sort to claim that he'd "conquered" any climb, but perhaps he thought it amusing to wear.

So bummed Michael (Ferretlegger) and I will be missing it. We are off to Moab for some adventures down there. Unfortunately, couldn't change plans. One of Michael's biggest epics was on the Salathe. Guess we'll have to wait for the 75th. Ummm....yeah...maybe...

I wonder if anyone will be doing a 50th anniversary ascent this weekend?
Steve, where are Tom's books and photos available for purchase, apart from at the event? Or where will they be available?

What a great evening it was - thanks so much for all your hard work putting it together, Ken.
A fully packed house, standing room only. It was fabulous to see how happy and proud Royal and Tom were to be there. Royal was wearing this cute little grin all night, and what can you say about Tom's smile - it hasn't changed in fifty years. You could feel the crowd's love and admiration for not only Royal's and Tom's accomplishment[s] but also for the climbers themselves. They had nothing but good things to say about their late partner, Chuck Pratt. "He was the best climber of his day," said Royal. "We brought him along with us knowing that if there was anything really hard, he could take care of it."
The best lines of the night:
Tom: "In order to climb big walls, you have to know what you don't know."
Royal: "Climbing big walls is hard. Business is hard, too, but climbing big walls is harder. If you can climb big walls, you can do anything."
A superb night, thanks again!
