A friend of mine ate a nutmeg once. He said that every time he threw up, he got higher.

I just remembered my first injestion of a hallucinogen....

I was 4 years old and had just finished watching Wally Gator (an alligator in a cartoon from the 60's)on TV. He was always eating these saltwater turnips....

I went outside to play, and when I came upon my mother's bed of Iris's.......I thought they looked like the turnips from TV. So, I ate them.

I seem to remember tripping, but don't know if that's true. Anyway, I DO know that my parents took me to the ER. My mom was an RN and was practically on a first name basis with the Poison Control hotline people. I know that she called, and whatever had to be done, she couldn't do it at home.

I got in a lot of trouble when I got home.....

Edit: Yes, K-Man....huffing anything is pretty bad. I certainly almost lost, that I can say. especially in the last three months of using, which was solely alcohol, except for one use of pot laced with something. But after I got clean and sober, I found a life that is really quite incredible. A life that had been taken from me long before I ever even ate those Iris's, that I never would have known was out there if I hadn't had a hell to compare the paradise found with.

I am pretty sure that tobacco has killed more ppl. on this planet than meth, alcohol, propane, pcp etc.

I worry about Werner. I think it might be all the radon gas?

Due to our rebelious desires, the drug of our own making, the illusionary energy is our reward.

Tobacco

the two worst drugs for your body. Both phsychologically and physically.

All the other illigal stuff doesn't do near as much damage as those two. . . and they are the two legal ones. . . . go figure.

consider....
1. highly addictive with severe withdrawal symptoms
2. very dangerous
3. no medicinal value
4. long term abuse is clinically proven to cause massive damage to tendons, ligaments, mental stability and personal relationships.
5. often leads to social withdrawal.
6. easily available even if you are under 21 yrs. old. In fact its widely peddled to children even inside our public schools by criminally vicious pushers and climbing addicts.
7. packaged and sold in variety of forms: trad, sport, the extremely dangerous and destructive "ice", boulder, etc.
8. known to spread aids directly.
9. the list goes on and on. we must do something about this modern day epidemic scourge. I'm going soloing.

Religion

If it wasn't for religion Bush would still be in Midland TX snorting coke, drinking bourbon, and wreaking small-scale familial destruction instead of f*#king this entire country over as he fails in his every attempt to be another Emperor Constantine.

Maybe it's my association with musicians and construction workers but you guys seem pretty isolated, I've seen to much from musicians shooting up back stage( that'll turn your stomach) to teenage musicians and teenage professional bowlers, ( kids under 20)
drink so much and ruin their lives, these kids would wake up in the morning and turn a bottle of Jack to get out of bed, ( I could only keep up that life style for 18 months before I started bleeding from the inside). I've seen and done most of it but the effect's crank has are the worst, I lost a drummer (freind for 20 years),and countless other associates. I only know 1 person who has come back from that game and even being clean for 3 years he still looks like the photo on the right. NASTY SH#T!

I had a friend whose son-in-law got addicted to prescription painkillers and it was ungodly horrible. He had hurt his back, and got on that Oxycontin.

The kid had been a family friend known for a long time and was always a totally straight arrow, hardworking, good kid. The slide he went through.....the lies and manipulation, the covering up by his wife as she went to her mother(my friend) always in need of more money because of some cockamamie bizarrely twisted scenarios....

Some of those scrip abusers too...think they are "different/better" than your garden variety junkie or drunk, in the detox programs. Difficult for them to identify, when they're buying their stuff under a doctors orders in broad daylight at the corner drugstore. Not putting 2 and 2 together and realizing it's not normal to be going to multiple doctors with multiple stories.....

I always wondered - how is Tylenol like you would get from a doctor different that Tylenol the over-the-counter pain reliever?

Someone close to me used to live on a daily cocktail of Tylenol and Nyquil PM.

But they "weren't drinking, dammit!".....

They are dead now, though not directly related to the above.

Lets talk more about Vicodin. I had back surgery 2 years ago next month. Live with chronic pain everyday and now have another disc that has been giving me problems. Naporsyn, Advil etc... do nothing for the pain. I take between 3 and 4 500mg Vicodin a day. On a good day I wont take any, on a bad day I will take 4 maybe 5 max. I am worried more about liver function than getting hooked. I somtimes go a week or more without taking any but that is rare. Prior to the Vicodin I was popping Advil like crazy everyday. My doctor said it was better to take a few Vicodin a day than to take the large amounts of Advil I was taking every day. Vicodin has been the only thing that makes my pain tollerable. I dont wake up wanting the Vicodin but after a few hours on my feet or sitting the pain is extreme. BTW I dont take it at work so I would say I take 3-4 Vicodin 20 out of 30 days a month. Any advice for alternate pain management Tx? I dont want to fry my liver.
