Can I get a little help on identification? I grovel at not recognizing these. Taken 2011_05_29, Leavenworth Washington on the north-east side of Icicle Creek canyon about 500 ft above the valley floor (maybe 2200 ft elevation). They are about 1.5 cm across and had a faint lavender hue that I'm not sure comes through in the photos.

It was an OK climbing day. We're still rusty from the rainy winter.

Darwin, If by chance you pass by some more phlox, get down on the ground and smell them.. it's a very pleasant - sweet smell.

edit: your welcome..(-;

I love mowing my lawn!

There's two things heinously wrong with that statement.
A. The obvious mis-use of the first verb.
B. It's a freaking fairway, not a lawn!

My wife likes flowers for her birthday, last year I took her out to see the outrageous poppies. This year they were a no show, so these are the b-day flowers.
