Tarwater, here's what their website says about them:

There were a number of different incarnations of this band between 1971 and 1989 and each roster boasted top-shelf, world-class musicians. This compact disc loosely centers on the Tarwater you would have seen in 1977 and part of '78. Now some of you were there, but for those who weren't, it was sorta like this...

OK, there you are, looking at the stage for the first time. You see a bunch of guys milling around up there. A few seem to be somewhat nicely dressed, while others look like they just clocked out from a carwash or a landfill. They all seem to be screwing around, tuning instruments, consuming inordinately huge quantities of whisky, beer and other substances not listed in the Surgeon General's Guide to a Long and Healthy Life. You turn to the guy standing next to you and say, "Maybe if they'd clear that bunch of drunken as#@&%es off the stage, Tarwater could come out and start playing."

Hilarious.

hahah

That's pretty cool.

Well...it's about time for me to check out for the week, consume some libations and head towards the batholith...hopefully I can pull myself away from climbing/exploring and snap some pictures for potential camping...

According to a todays mid-afternoon field report from Mojede it's dry from Dragons Back -> east...sounds good to me...

Cheers!

I was just reading up on the Idaho-Bitterroot batholith. I didn't realize it is only on the order of 50-60 million years old. I had assumed it was over a billion years old, like all of the granites in Colorado. I've always had a thing for younger granites.
