The remaining Ds shrugged and walked to the RNC riser, where Sheriff David Clarke Kent and T-Lo handed them beers from the R’s team cooler.

TGT, it is really beneath you to QUOTE people speaking, posting it as fact, when it is actually not fact, and you know that.

That's one of the things we mean when we call you a chronic liar.

Wilmot, your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Your side WANT these drone strikes, and wants MORE of them---and we are going to see more of them, by the thousands.

I'd buy drone stocks---but of course, you already have.

... yes, but he knows how he and the other reptiles he has chosen to fill the swamp, he promised to drain, with can use the formal positions to get more money all by themselves...

My best hope is that he, by accident, will do something that makes the world a better place, not only for the 1/100.000 richest.

Unlike WBraun, I have a hard time Lolling Pyro. 700 children were shot in the US in 2016. More guns is hardly the answer. It's an American ideology... American modernism at it's worst...

I laughed because two military guys in Afganistan were making a sarcastic joke that it's safer in Afganistan then in Chicago.

I lived in the worst part of Chicago when I was kid and had fight daily the bigger kids who'd try to steal your money, bike or what not.

My lol had nothing to do with your sour puss bitter old man mentality you both are, nor any political views.

You two bitter old men and stalkers Bob and Marlow are insane .....

Chicago is an island full of guns in a sea of guns, America.
To achieve anything, regulations covering the whole US is needed and it will only work in the long run - maybe 20 years of goal directed activity to reduce gun related deaths.

In America mass shootings and war are two of the main causes of accumulation of wealth among the few - American businesses thrive on fear, crime, war and death - more guns sold, more security, more people in prisons (commercial prisons) and so on.

Locker: I agree, at present guns is not the biggest issue.

It's a gun problem and a cultural problem...

The cultural problem consists of both American businesses thriving on fear, crime and death and on individual behaviour...

It mainly has to due to our addiction to drugs and the war on them that has broken down our social structure. We incarcerate so many people that the gangs have become leaderless and fractured to the point they seem to forget they are supposed to be making money rather than shooting each other over stupid arguments.
Neither party offers a sane appriach to reforming this

Edit: Mass shooting create wealth? How so?

Mass shootings create fear. People have the idea that more guns will create safety and buy more guns. The NRA argue that guns are needed to create safety.

Gun sellers know the mechanism very well. Every time after a mass shooting, more guns are sold. The gun producers get their profit...

Marlow- Americans have been buying more guns after each incident because they fear more regulations will make that purchase impossible or unaffordable in the future.
It is fear- but not in the manner you are thinking
I have never owned a gun, but even I have started to think it might be a smart investment as they are only getting more expensive
Many elitist ideas of gun control consist of making them so expensive and hard to get that only they can afford to have them

Most Americans don't own guns and most want gun control. Crime is down but keep drinking the republican fear kool aid.

It is to a large extent fear as I talk of it. You could see it during Trump's campaign in 2016 and here is something from Bush jr's campaign in 2004.

It is the unexpected by-product of these countless encounters with hard right-wingers during their cross-country marathon that sets Danes for Bush apart in this genre of political satire.

While it is no surprise to find groups of radical right-wingers talking the talk one would expect of radical right-wingers, what is an eye-opener is the source of the feelings of uncertainty and paranoia their targets ultimately reveal.

The talk of the right-wingers they encounter is of the hopeless tragedy of friends and neighbours murdered by random gun-violence; Vietnam as a terrifying scar – one that we see lingering disturbingly on so many psyches; and of course the deep, oftentimes wildly fanatical, religious faith used to steady so many in the face of it all. The trauma of being hit by terrorists who, from the perspective of a small-timer in the heart of America, have emerged almost mystically from some unknown evil has been the final blow. These people are visibly shaken in many of the encounters. They have felt an enormous sense of betrayal of purpose over the years, and they are stunned by it.

As we watch the Danes for Bush characters in full pantomime, Mads and Jacob meeting right-winger after right-winger, group after group; the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place. One now understands where it is the people they are meeting are coming from.

With this realisation, the disbelief that a group of such people and their radical viewpoints can exist mutates into a sort of momentary, if uneasy, forgiveness – which is not at all to say that one finds oneself agreeing with virtually anything being said.

The right-wingers are children stumbling through the unknown, ever fearful of what may lurk around the next corner, wishing for the impregnable protection.

The enemy surely lurks somewhere in the Middle East, so attack, ATTACK! What better justification? There is no time to think about it, to debate. How can you put a price on comfort, reassurance? The violent and unpredictable world must be secured.

In managing to communicate with the same group of people that John Kerry and the left wing of America were simply unable to touch, the Danes for Bush guys, if inadvertently, stumbled upon the reason why this very fear exists in the first place.

Sadly, dealing with this mess will preoccupy Americans for years to come.
