Is he? Time will tell. He could be playing ole Vlad the Bad, too. No point in getting wrapped around the axle yet, is my position. We shall see what we see. Tearing our beards out now in lamentation and dismay isn't useful at all.
No slack for the president elect. He's setting the table for the next four years and his statements, tweets and actions matter greatly. We downplay them at our risk.

We should be workeing with Russia to fight Isis rather than backing the Islamic terrorist "rebel" groups as Obama has done in Syria.
Why are we in Syria again? Why are we backing the "rebels", Turkey, the Kurds and various Iraq militias that are all fighting each other in Syria again?
At least W had an excuse for getting involved in Iraq..
Obama has yet to explain our bizarre (and illegal) foreign policy in regards to Syria

He's also very CLEARLY whipped out his kid gloves in the ready to slap the face of China with them. Perhaps the man is too self-centered to even be aware of what he has done, but done it he has.
There is ALWAYS discourse on the president's every move, no MATTER who that president is. Trump just hasn't waited to actually take the Oath of Office to begin making "presidential" statements. I think it is truly wishful thinking to believe this is part of a well-honed "new era" strategy. Sorry that I can't find the ray of sunshine in the Trump situation, DMT, but assure you it is not simply a sore-loser DEM/REP thing.

Downplay, uplay, ignore; I fail to see how it changes our risk. Help me understand.
Would he protect us in the face of convincing evidence of a threat?
He doesn't seem to care, or maybe he really is a Russian pawn. I'm not a tin foil guy, but his Russian sympathies are bizarre. And maybe the intelligence really doesn't add up, but he's blowing it off, just like many other issues, without learning anything.
So if he doesn't care, who should--congress? They're divided. Leadership wants to sweep it under the rug. McCain, graham and a few other republicans along with Dems don't seem inclined to entrust secret committees and the president elect with that task.
We're learning something about our president elect. As the saying goes, Dems took him literally but not seriously, while republicans took him seriously but not literally. We need to do both, his words matter more than Obama's because he will lead us for the next four years.

Trump
He's a total Israel puppet.
The bullsh!t Russian connection was made by Obama because the Russian foiled his total criminal plans in the Mid East and Ukraine.
Americans are so brainwashed and clueless by their corrupt controlled Media .....

I saw this the other day. A nice counter to the toxicity of social media and online exchanges.
“The people we surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards. They either help us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves. We become like our friends. No man becomes great on his own. No woman becomes great on her own. The people around them help to make them great.
We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves.”

I still don't see how going off on a Trump tweet or offhand remark changes our risk; at all.
That's the point. They're not offhand remarks.

Isis is yet another boogeyman created and funded by Langley, Israel, and SA to destabilize and push western agendas in the region. Its not as if we haven't done it before...

Wa Post:
Putin’s Russia has a museum dedicated to freedom — and people want to shut it down
The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center — dedicated to the country’s first freely elected president — celebrates liberties won in the 1990s, a decade that many Russians would rather forget. As the 25th anniversary of the dismantlement of the Soviet Union nears, the drumbeat of disapproval has only gotten louder.
For those who were unaware that Russia holds elections, without the benefit of the Electoral College.

I still don't see how going off on a Trump tweet or offhand remark changes our risk; at all.
A perfect example was his remark about NATO, implying that he would not abide by it's terms.
This had two effects: Countries that are at risk, Lithuania, et all, which are defended from Russia by the NATO shield are very nervous and insecure, particularly after what happened in Ukraine. (which apparently Trump doesn't know about). This creates instability, and instability always increases risks, because it creates a situation where one nutter can set off a cascade of actions. That's how we got WWI.
The second is that it tells Putin that he can do what he wants without fearing NATO involvement, certainly from the US (and our nuclear arsenal)
Another example is his tweet about expanding the nuclear arsenal, and starting another arms race. Instead of the gradual reduction of nuclear stockpiles over time, this could produce a far larger stockpile, with possibilities of a mistake, an accident, a nutter, a theft by terrorists.
That is a big increase in risk.

Trump is clearly a pathological liar, so trying to anticipate his next moves will be difficult.
The only thing that is consistent is his bromance with the Putninator. There is some deep man-love going on there.

What is President Obamas deal lately? Is he overly concerned with his legacy? The war mongering is out of control. He clearly wants a war with Russia. I personal think that is a terrible idea. Stop the damage and walk away.
