this is not really about Bundy at all
it IS about protesting government
not the government that builds the roads, delivers water and electricity or clean water
not the government that runs our wonderful military
not the government sending out the SS checks and healthcare dollars every day
but instead, the government ....in general...ya know?

^^^ Excellent. One of the specious arguments that irrational gun-huggers use to oppose any new rational gun laws is that we already have enough laws. They also say the gun laws we do have are just not adequately enforced.
Well theres the law plain as day, time for some adequate enforcement.
I'm curious about where all those OhCOWpie MOOvement folk had all their moovements?

But do we really need to play lawyer here?
You don't point guns a cops.
It's that simple.
It's usually that simple, but self-defense (which may, in some cases, essentially include the defense of others) is an exception that makes it not that simple in all cases.
The fact that the ranchers and their allies weren't arrested may suggest that this case isn't as simple as some of you think. Or it may just be that the federal agents were in a good mood that day and gave everyone a pass. Or they didn't want to be bothered with all that paperwork.
For now, I'm sticking with my theory that that the feds don't really want their actions scrutinized as they would be if they charged the ranchers/allies--I don't necessarily think the ranchers/allies have any reasonable self-defense claim, just putting that out as a possibility to those of you who don't seem to be aware of the existence of affirmative defenses.

This Bundy dude and his scrawny cows are a smudge on the pavement - not worth a federal showdown for Fox to showcase. Why would BLM waste their time entering onto "combat" with these non-American domestic terrorists holding out in the middle of nowhere? Who cares?
