Humble observations.....Not to take anything away from a climber who I greatly admire but he didn't mention money as being one of the reasons he's climbing the tower (no judgement but I'm sure that's one of the factors). He also says he doesn't want cameras around when doing something hard for him. Well, unless 12a slab is the new 10c.R for him, it looks like he's changed his mind which is the only worry I have because of his saying that he doesn't want cameras or presence influencing his decisions during critical situations. And if 12a is the new 10c.R then Holy S--T! Even pre-worked, soloing slab at that level is amazing. I just hope the cameras don't cause that one little glitch.

I was wondering about the name. I know a lot of Peruvians who would not be amused.
Maybe the name should be changed to Pain and Suffering For Nothing.

And I wished I hadn't watched that short video cause I'm gonna have daytime
nightmares while I go to the barber.

The looking down aspect is cool. You can see him thinking. I could not tell if he blinked though. Pretty wild!

Reilly - I doubt if Peruvians give a sh#t. It's just a name.
There is a route at Arapiles called "Dead Americans", with a comment from the guide book author that "there should be more of them" I suppose he meant more dead Americans. So what? Why let someone wind you up?

So is there a storage unit in the local village where he leaves his enormous gonads when he does something like that?

"The guy doesn't blink..."
Round eye, with eyes half open. Quite a complement. As a spectator from the sideline, I wonder if some would be satisfied to see what he can do through his focus. Still, to what end? I'm not an academic either, but I was glad to hear that good doctor Honnold has started a charitable group.

I have a question about the video footage. Is that noise a fairly high wind? If so, it seems like it would increase the danger and degree of difficulty of the climb to some extent. Possibly the person who took the video footage could weigh in.

Honnold is the kind of climber I dreamed Sharma might grow into. So inspiring and amazing to behold. I love that I can see this footage of him doing these amazing things, but it does bother me a little. There is a corrupting power of cameras, sponsors and expectations in doing something this committing and dangerous and I hope Alex is mature enough to know when to stop, or at least when to stop bringing camera crews.
Great send, Alex. Stay safe.
